If this is to be a one off purchase, a "keeper" if you will, and not to be flipped as many here would, then perhaps the old adage "buy right, buy once" is apt. I therefore suggest the budget is upped to £3000, and damn the torpedoes (that's assuming there's a wife looking over his shoulder). ;-)
