TZ being the fount of all knowledge...does anyone here have a rough idea of the materials costs and elapsed times for re-building a detached, brick garage? Mine is nearly as old as the house and has not been maintained over the years before my tenure, additionally the neighbour's garage is very close to it so it appears very difficult to diagnose and impossible fix leaks that are occuring in the wall/floor nearest the neighbour.
Anyway, the concrete slab looks good to my untrained eye so I'm considering knocking it down and rebuilding with the correct drainage and protection installed between the properties. Their land is slightly higher than mine at that point so I've got to look at this carefully. I have a builder lined up but I want to sanity check the materials and build time estimates.
Construct four external walls, adding steelwork etc as needed
Roof and cover roof in felt, battens and tiles
Fascias, gable claddings, soffits and a barge board
Guttering and drainage
Electrics, light and an outlet
Garage door and maybe window
Paint and security
Anyone got a rough guess? It'd be much appreciated.
A friend is having a similar thing built and has been quoted £10000 , but he lives in Cornwall so it may be more expensive or cheaper depending where you live.
He is having a base laid ,brick walls,pitch roof, electric door etc .

Thanks, that was quick! I'd be at about 6/7/8k then without the slab depending on how complex the job of drainage is. Do you know how long it's taking to build your friend's garage?
Depending on how long your garage has been there, you may need new foundations for the walls. What was considered sufficient in the past often isn’t these days.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
Asbestos may also have been used for the roof, so you may need specialist disposal.
