    Fixing Lights to Pillar Cap

We have pillar caps on our gateposts like these https://www.wickes.co.uk/Marshalls-C...hoCl_8QAvD_BwE

and are looking to get some post lights. However all the lights I have seen so far have a flat base so I'm wondering how they will fix to the pillar cap. Is there a universal type fitting that I need to create a flat surface for the lights to then bolt onto ?

    All advice appreciated

If it’s the classic carriage lantern style fittings your looking at, they appear to be flat on the bottom but most of the time they’re hollow on the base and the terminal blocks are suspended in the centre so the point of the cap stone tends to sit in the void and the base finds its own level and square to the pad then 2 fixings straight into the stone.

I marked a pencil circle around the lamp base and then used a disc grinder to flatten the pyramid down.
