Definitely worth the effort. Very well done, sir.👍👍
Any fool can buy a watch but putting the right watch on the watch strap? That takes serious dedication. So here's all three of the RAF-issued Smiths "6B" watches (1940s WW2 "Mk X", 1950s GS De Luxe and 1960s 6B "W10") all on correct NOS straps (English pigskin, VB Hygienique NATO, 17mm nylon RAF-style).
Worth the effort, I think.
(As usual, apologies for poor quality pics. And, yes, this is probably one for the BMW or Leather, Rubber & Nylon subforums but I couldn't decide which one so I put it here.)
But what's that you say? You want to see the W10 on a perlon as per the Smiths advert? And the GS on a AF0210?
Well, OK. But just for you.
Definitely worth the effort. Very well done, sir.👍👍
Very nice to see, thanks for putting up the pictures.
Ollie, very interesting strap that VB Hygienique NATO - could you share more details?
Thanks
Sure. I'll post some pics up later but meantime here some better shots and info

I’m surprised that you haven’t featured one of these straps Ollie. Remind me, who was the maker?
By the way, I have two VB Hygeniques and could let one go if anybody desperately wants one.

Which one should Eddie re-make??
Really liking the canvas strap on the 50's GS!
Back to that first post.... That’s great! Well worth the effort I’d say

Thanks all.
There's 11 known examples of the Mk X, 30-something of the GS and the W10 is relatively (!) common.
I think I'm the only person to have all three.
What a great thread. That takes some dedication!
