As the title says, just want some opinions as of now my Rolex GMT ref 16710 is at RSC for service. It wasn't in great shape when I dropped it off, needs a new bezel assembly, new sapphire glass, crown and the oyster bracelet is kind of stretched. Its going to cost just shy of £1k for the service and parts.
I have a small dilemma. As the original bracelet is looking a bit sad I'm thinking of getting a Jubilee bracelet to replace it. What do you guys think? Is it worth £900?
Depends on what £900 means to you? In my view it absolutely is money well spent as it's so iconic with the GMT, and so comfortable to wear. Means you have 2 choices of bracelet also which if teamed up with the 3 bezel inserts means 6 different watches in 1. Sounds like good value to me.
When you say your current bracelet is looking a bit sad you could also think about having it restored.
£250/300 will get you a brand new looking bracelet.
Unless prices have shot up, I got a nice, used jubilee from MarcJ of this parish for £350 last year so he might have one (Marc is a reputable dealer and great guy).
I think these watches look great on jubilee by the way but is always best to have both imho

Is that price based on an exchange Jubilee bracelet - do they retain the oyster bracelet ?
I recall several mentions of a chap in Hong Kong who can restore badly worn bracelets ?
I have a 16710 that I bought with an Oyster bracelet.
I had a Coke besel fitted and slapped a Jubilee as well. The Jubilee really enhances the watch and the wife agrees.
I have a Pepsi 16710, and I have both oyster and jubilee bracelets. I really like the look of the jubilee, and I occasionally switch to the jubilee, but inevitably it ends up going back on the Oyster in fairly short order, don't know why. Although the Jubilee is comfortable it just seems to suit and fit better on the Oyster. So would I personally spend £900 on an oyster? Probably not.
(Right now I have it on a a blue Erikas MN strap with red stripe, and it looks particularly well in my opinion)

My main concern is the Jubilee would make the watch look a bit dressier and I'm more into the utilitarian tool watch look. I'm not sure if I'd like it in the long term.
Actually, blow it, I'm going get a jubilee and as someone has said get the oyster fixed up so I can change change them around whenever I feel like it.

I bought a 2nd hand jubilee from a member here for £550-it was in good shape.
I think it dresses the GMTs up a bit and with Rolex sticking them on the modern GMTs then they are "on trend".
I'm not sure if I don't still prefer the oyster if I'm honest but nice for a change up.
Nice to have options but I much prefer the oyster.

When I was in Rolex St James for something else I asked the girl behind the counter about the jubilee price. She said £900, but also that if I waited until a service they can maybe bundle it in cheaper. Be interested if that’s the case?

He's just recently fixed the Oyster bracelet on my 1993 Sub 16610 Brilliant job.Came back as new.Very reasonable prices.
From a purely personal perspective, I do not like fussy (loads of different sized links, mesh etc.) bracelets and I'd class the jubilee in that category. I would have the oyster bracelet refurbished and stick with that. However, the only decision that matters is what you prefer as it's your watch.
I used to own a 16710 pepsi for which I also had a coke bezel but sold it on here as 40mm is just a bit small for me. It was the hardest decision but I know it went to a good home.
I think it’s worth it personally I had a 16710 a while ago serviced and opted to not change the oyster bracelet, it drove me mad in the end as the case looked brand new and the bracelet didn’t, although yours doesn’t look too bad

I had both on mine and for me I couldn't get away with the Jubilee, it was sold within days...

GMT just feels right on a Jubilee for some reason to me. I like the fact it's dressier on what I feel is a "posher" watch than a tool watch like a sub.

Would be interested to see a Milgauss on a Jubilee... know it's not an official option and may not be possible to fit but can't help thinking it would look well.

Personally I prefer the oyster, I don't like the way the jubilee isn't flush between the lugs.
However, on a separate note, does anyone question why this is called the Coke? It's black and red, but Coke's colours are red and white.
Lovely pic and great watches, i notice the font on the right hand bezel insert is noticeably fatter than the left - are they both period correct bezel inserts or is one a service replacement etc? Actually looking again the fonts are completely different.Looks great on both...but my marginal preference remains the Oyster...
I won't quote it again but great photo 11erv, a superb example of how the bracelet completely changes the watch. I still think it's Jubilee all the way!
The one on the right is the original insert. The one on the left I had fitted at Rolex St James a couple of years ago to replace the original (fat font) faded insert. The difference is very noticeable, side by side.

To answer the original question, I believe personally that it is worth the £900. It would be good to get the jubilee but also have the oyster restored, that way you’re not eliminating options.
It’s quite easy to express a binary preference, but with both on hand you’ll find that your preference changes with the circumstances, and it’s fun to switch things around.
Ok, I know the last two aren’t even 16710s!
I’ll dig around to see if I’ve got a picture of the coke on jubilee configuration.

Wow that 16750!!! What a beauty! That’s is the reason I can never prefer a later 5 digit version over it.
I like them both, Jubilee and Oyster.
For me, Coke/black inlays belong on Oyster and Pepsi (especially faded) on Jubilee.
Someone who lies about the little things will lie about the big things too.

Has anybody bought a Jubilee for a 16710 from Rolex recently as I’m considering adding one to mine and wondered what the cost might be?
The only one I know is the Oyster for a Sub Ceramic is £1700! Mine could do with a new one. :(
Think it's £1,550 or £1,600.
Think that's about right.
Sorry, had something else in my head. jackjack bought one in November and he said it was "about £900".
