<<Gulp!>>...
I’ve seen more than that too.
Not much when you say it fast.
Probably bought in at about 10k or less

Waiting for someone here to buy it at list and then want "what it owes me" on SC.
And in this mad world of Rolex, is that more or less than a brand new one would be??
There were three in beaverbrooks window at lakeside last week all at that sort of money and you can stick on a further grand for WF. Same on chrono24. Crazy but that's how it is nowdays
Are you surprised at the low price now that the bubble has bursted?😂😂😂
Hope it's a real one, then
I suppose if you have the money you need a shop that actually has stock. Not condoning these crazy prices, but while people are paying these prices there won't be any bubbles bursting.
We need a world wide co-ordinated response whereby everyone refuses to pay a penny over list. Prices would soon come down if no one was buying. I think the fanboys would blink first 😂😂
I'll see that and raise you this:

But why the substantial difference though?

A friend just picked one up brand new from a dealer in San Diego for $11k I’m guessing that’s a pretty decent deal?
If mugs will pay, then folk will price them accordingly, why make a small profit when you can make a big one, way of the world innit.
The RRP is just an arbitrary figure set by the manufacturer. As long as there are enough people buying at the current market price the current values will hold. The weak pound doesn't help either.
Is it too far fetched to think that Rolex are allowing people to get used to these crazy prices then come back with circa 40% price rises that people think are bargains for new watches?
Who knows but I don’t think that’s too far fetched no. If a stainless sub went from 6.5k to 9k they’d still sell as many as they do today i’m sure. Let’s be honest, if you’ve got £6.5k for a watch you can probably find or justify £9k. Or, it’ll just turn in to something people finance like their cars and motorbikes. How many people have got £25k plus cash to lay out for a car, the vast majority just finance them. If watch rrp’s become beyond comfort levels, people can just finance them right?
At least it’s a 2017
I’ve seen that price for a 2012 lol
A store near me is asking 17k for a Kermit!
If it was 40 years old with a black Dial and a bit of Red writing on it, it would be more expensive.
Don't blame the clowns or the jugglers. Simply stop going to the circus.
Whoever does not know how to hit the nail on the head should be asked not to hit it at all.

I'm surprised Rolex haven't yet done their autumn price hike. I thought the nodate would blow through £6k and leap 10% and the 2 date versions would probably do 5-8% but nothing yet. I do think Rolex are trying to push up market by consistent 5-10% price rises. Purely guessing though.
As mentioned in another thread, there looks to be a adjustment in asking prices from some of the greys who are starting to get a twitchy sphincter after asking just too much, saying that I don’t think there is going to be any type of bubble bursting, just a slight deflation of the bubble at the top end asking prices.
It's so painful when the things you love increase in price faster than your income!
To the moon baby.
But back down to earth why/what would incentivize anyone outside the 1 per cent club to spend better than a years average salary on a mass produced steel watch. Except perhaps the notion that down the line there'll be a bigger fool to offload it to. Now where have we seen that kind of herding behaviour before, and what does it usually presage. No implicit judgement here on either buyers or the commodity itself, genuinely interested in how it plays out/evolves in terms of observing human and market behaviours.

I’m not saying it’s correct but there will be more unworn 6 digit Hulks as these are being produced in the middle of this explosion so a lot of people won’t wear them due to their perception that the value will dip if worn
10-15 yrs ago most people would be wearing the Kermit as not many would have foreseen the value hike and would just have worn them. Hence far less unworn ones.
That’s my take on it.
Also the small matter of the ceramic LV being hideous but that’s for another day .

My crystal ball was working when I was paying market prices several years ago for Kermits.
No hype for flat 4s then.
Less than was being asked for a used BLNR in Central London yesterday..
