    Stolen in London

A fellow collector has had three watches stolen in London .. sounds like he was targeted and they knew the value involved ... but that doesn’t necessarily mean they know how to cash out of them so please be on the lookout :

    Rolex6265 paul newman serial 3032085

rolex big red 6263 serial 5503384

    Patek Philippe 5711 serial 7207583/6283655

    Many thanks

Damn! That's a bit of a haul... hope he came out of it unscathed.

Poor bloke. It’s not like they are easy to replace.

Hopefully the watches find their way back to the owner and who is otherwise unharmed.

    Wow
How the hell do they plan to shift them on for anything like their true value.
    Probably get shifted abroad somewhere.
    Minefield with insurance value too.

Stolen to order perhaps, straight into a personal collection. I don't see any of those being offered down the local pub.

Oh that's terrible. Huge sympathies to the guy involved.

I am sure that the PN will reappear at some point in the future - mostly likely at a auction house.

    Fingers crossed.

I’m no Rolex expert but won’t they transplant the PN dial to a fresh-to-market non-PN 6265 ? I’d be sure to try and identify any unique tells on the PN dial.

Very sorry to hear this, I hope he’s ok. Irrespective of the value I can imagine it’s a terribly distressing experience.

Sadly I think this is the way of things now. Less random opportunistic theft (even though that’s the lions share of all theft) and more targeted “stolen to order” as you say

I know friends whose relatively rare cars were stolen; and tracked to wealthy parts of cities in Eastern Europe before disappearing off grid forever, presumably added to private collections
