    Sorry. You were too late.

Now if anybody has actually owned an SQ5 or had dealings with them, feel free to advise.

I ran one for 6 months from new and apart from overlight steering (individual option not fitted) it was brill, the engine and gearbox are a dream and that twin turbo kicks ass.

My mate who runs a garage had one up to about 12 months ago when it burst in to flames for no reason and he was lucky to get out.

Audi collected the vehicle and paid him out directly without going through the insurance company but he signed a NDO so they must have know there was a fault that could cause a fire.

Also in the 12 months he owned it he had at least 3 attempts to steal it so maybe if your location isn't a car crime hot spot then you may be OK.

I’ve just got into an Audi forum for feedback too

The threat of theft is always around no matter what I drive - but I guess they are sort by thieves for bits

My mate has one. Parts are expensive. Discs and pads best part of a grand, and he’s had turbo and intercooler issues. Sorted under extended warranty, but would have been 7k if he hadn’t taken the warranty.

Would be enough to put me off, but it is pretty rapid and sounds great.

Boots a bit rubbish too, but he (and I) do have prams to consider.

It's not in the same bracket as an SQ5 but I recently took delivery of an A4 Avant Quattro and my insurance went up by 1/3rd. I've always had similar RRP Mercs and BMWs so I was shocked at the increase. The insurance co said that sporty Audi's are currently targetted by theives. A police friend of mine said that the most stollen vehicle in the UK is the RS3.

Have heard of several that have suffered spontaneous combustion - VAG will ofc never confirm this 'being a problem' !
Go for an X3 M40i - absolutely love it

We've also been very happy with the X3.

    Drive one today

    Felt underwhelmed

    Light steering

Against my X5 it didn’t seem at all robust

But I’m not comparing apples with apples

I’ll try another when I get a decent chance

    The thieves don’t worry me

    The fire story does.....

In most reviews, the steering in Audis is always the big let down, they just don't seem crack it !
    'Totally uninvolving' is the thread.....

That's changed on some of the newer models, my S5 has better feel and feedback steering wise than my previous 2016 BMW 440i GC did, which was horribly vague, to the point I had a full geometry check done on it when it was brand new to make sure that wasn't the problem, it wasn't.

Wow lucky he asked now, sounds like a death trap. I have a 13 year old French junk and that never had a problem since day one apart from the usual
