New here, here’s my humble watch collection

    Hi folk,

Here’s my watch collection. The first was the seiko, then the Stowa, the Zenith, the JLC, a Vulcain that I sold, the UN and the latest one is the IWC. I love it! Now desesparately looking for an Omega PO 42 with the 2500 caliber latest model...

    I see it ok

Lovely collection... the JLC is gorgeous... I'd love one of those (or similar) some day.

It‘s been indeed for long my favorite: this older generation is less thick, and hence love the proportion! The „equilibre“ on the dial also looks perfect to me.

Is that an "ultra thin"?... just looking them up here.. lovely!

    EDIT: This one?.. https://www.chrono24.co.uk/jaegerlec...-id2676219.htm

Hahaha you will find this very funny: the ultra thin is the name of the one out just after my model, but is a bit thicker!! You will see that the „automatic“ mention also disappeared.

    It is! Thanks!

I wish my UN was a bit smaller (case diameter) but it is so beautiful to look at. It is the watch I have with the best feeling when rotating the crown. Just friction-less.

Really like the JLC and IWC. Have come close to buying both on more than one occasion.

Not normally a fan of JLC but that one does look lovely. Really nice looking dial, a bit different to the run of the mill types.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

Yes the master control series are easier to wear than the master compressor!

I really like in general the power reserve indicator, very useful.

Love the UN, one has been on my radar for quite a while now. Zenith and JLC also pure class. Great to see another collection that doesn’t include the usual suspects.

Nice collection! Is that a vintage Stowa in the bottom right hand corner?

Really enjoy that collection. The JLC is probably my favourite but would happily own any of them!

Thank you and thank you all. Have you noticed the Zenith is not the usual 36000 but the 1/10th striking complication? :)

Wouldn’t think the JLC would have had such a success! I didn’t wear it that much lately, have to correct that!

It is! A WW2 one. I would like to find someone capable to restore it right and nicely. Not looking actively though. Should reactivate the search...

Very nice , the Stowa looks classy on that bracelet , just shows you don’t have to spend a fortune to look good.

True! I was very attracted (still a little bit) by thin case, like the Piaget Altiplano. It often drives my choices and taste. The Stowa has a presence even though it’s a 36mm.

I didn’t manage to like the Vulcain Cricket Aviator GMT... I tried, looked nice but not my taste...

The one I cannot be bored about, never. Still on my wrist at least once a week since 2014! I also have a nice grey alligator strap but never swap, this metal strap is so beautiful...

I used to have the rose gold version of the striking tenth. Was certainly a cracking watch, traded it to Watchfinder over a year ago and it still lives with them now.

  33. #33
I’ve been looking at the Zenith A384 Revival in recent weeks.

I thought I’d got it out of my system. But your Zenith has perked my interest again!

Ha yes I see! Interesting model for sure.

I will look at the steiking tenth rose gold as well, I’m curious!

Managed to find a couple, I’d love to have it back but can’t stomach paying Watchfinder the difference to what they paid me to get it back.

Also had the striking tenth version of the Stratos, that was a beast of a watch.

Really nice with the gold case, gives a classy look.

The Stratos came after I bought mine, and also with black dials if I’m not mistaken? Could not say which one I prefer between mine and the stratos. The stratos is a bit less «*discrete*» with that bezel, but I think it had a greater success..

I suppose they will have realised after a year that it won't sell for the money they are asking? Why not ask them, maybe they'd be happy to reverse the deal?

I like the Stowa – it has a hint of Partitio about it but I imagine it pre-dates the Partitio.

    Welcome aboard

    Lovely collection French Guy

I’m a JLC fan lad so it naturally gets the thumbs up from me. That said the IWC is lovely as well.

Welcome (although that was perhaps more apt 5yrs ago)

He already had some nice watches when we first met. But I am responsible for him owning the JLC and he bought the IWC from me last week.

You cannot imagine! A mix I guess, already had the seiko and stowa before meeting with Raffe. I guess it was less a problem for me to invest in watches after meeting him, hahaha
