Hi folks -
My screen started flashing last night and is now black - it will flash briefly when I boot up and go black again. The display is fine through my TV, so I'm assuming it's a connector issue. I bought it new from John Lewis 3-4 years ago. Two questions:
1. Does this sound like an internal connector issue?
2. I'm hoping Apple / John Lewis would repair for free under the Sales of Goods Act (e.g. being fit for purpose). Does anyone have any experience of this?
I have been careful with it (e.g. I don't carry it by the lid).
Apple did repair the screen a year ago under warranty (the known screen surface wear issue).
Thank you kindly.
Andrew
I think Sale of Goods will be a press on a 4 year old machine.
If the screen replacement was less than 12 months ago, that might be a way round it though.

"Well they would say that ... wouldn't they!"
Thanks chaps. I've booked it in with Apple Edinburgh for next week, will see what they say. For info, the free screen replacement was in March 2019 (came with a 90-day warranty). I'm hopefully they'll be favourable given the age.
Dunk, thanks for link - will keep that in case not good news.
P.S. It turns out I actually bought machine in Dec 2016, so less than 3 years old. I'm a bit more hopeful it will be fixed gratis.
