    Everest Expedition for sale

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".

The seller even used your photo's Eddie. Shocking. I hope he / she had your permission to do so.

    Who ? Spill the beans.

If the OP wishes to sell one of Eddies watches thats fare enough, but at least take your own photo's and write up your very own description. Abit rude and lazy if you ask me, as he/ she did not do either.

I was referring to the gaffer, as such I imagine he knows.

In the video what does he mean by the second hand hits the markers? Only ever heard that before when describing a quartz movement.

    I think he's a touch confused.

He thinks the original Smiths factory was in Sheffield.

Indeed as I said earlier, he's a tad confused.

No, not confused, as he states Sheffield twice. Just wrong.

I was trying to give the turnip the benefit of the doubt, another so called 'influencer' that's sadly lacking in knowledge.

Yes, the man who gives this watch 8 minutes of undiluted, articulate praise deserves a very thorough kicking for getting this unutterably insignificant detail wrong. Harder, harder!

To be fair I think it is an unfortunate part of this type of video that it is high on attractive, well-lit pictures, high on appreciative adjectives, and less accurate on basic facts.
Apart from stating that vntage Smiths were made in Sheffield twice, he also re-states all the Everest summited by 2 Rolexes stuff, which is not established fact either.
He compounds his error by wierdly referring to mechanical watch hands "hitting the respective markers perfectly ", and summarises Hillary's antarctic exploits as a three year crossing, which it decidedly was not. (He took a few months to get to the pole, only the third to do so, but then flew out).
He contrasts the case shape with Rolex by stating that it is rounder (so are older Rolexes) and that the lugs are drilled (so are Rolexes).
There is some great content here, but inaccuracies too, and there isnothing wrong with pointing these out.
