What is written on the watches at the top of the ad is a little un-PC I'm led to believe

Haven't seen another of any of these on here (though suspect there might be a couple of the RLT29s hidden away).

It has a good retro/vintage look.

Can you elaborate? I'm not a PAMeristi, so it looks rather like most other Luminors to me.

Girard Perregaux Neo Bridges - fairly recent release, and probably a bit marmite.

Not sure I've seen another one of these on the forum....

But then, there were only 500 of them made - for a special swim organised by the Unterwasser diving magazine.
    Best Regards - Peter

For sure this amazing watch will be the only one on tz and possibly one of only ones in the UK too.

    What a great thread!

This is definitely the only PVD coated 5402 on here...

Pretty sure this is the only Zenith Daytona with a ceramic bezel (although soon to be returned to stock)...

I know Kash bought a 3712 after I got mine as we compared the differences in the dials but I think this is the only one left on the forum...

My original Datograph certainly isn’t unique as I know Raffe has one but I bought this before purchasing mine to see if I liked the look and haven’t seen another of these here...

I know one or two had them but I’m not sure if this is the only Panerai 687 left on here?

I think Granitequarry has a black dial vintage Blandford Squale with an orange and black bezel like the first one I bought but I’m not sure anyone else on here has the blue dial and bezel version?

And finally whilst we’re on the subject of watches with bakelite bezels, I know this isn’t the only 6542 on here as Haywood Milton has one and I think I’ve seen another too but given their age, they’re all unique and I can’t resist...

    All the best,

    Paul

Sticking my head out as a total noob, but can't imagine there are too many of these kicking-around in the UK:

Has a date in 1937 scratched on the movement. Keeps remarkably good time still, too.

I guess that was either aircraft or seacraft related with the propeller motif on the dial. Nice interesting piece either way.

    What a lovely watch.
Any chance of another shot showing off the two hands? The hour hand looks like it could be quite intricate.

or this exact variant of this more recent addition

No doubt there are a few original DS200's but I can't recall having seen another blue dial version.

Aye, it's 50mm across, so apparently fairly typical for early aviator watches and/or watches hastily adapted from pocket-watch designs.

I love the naivety of the propeller logo - certainly makes its intended purpose abundantly clear -

There are some really nice watches on this read. Jason's Wittenaur and Matthew's Mareoscope being two that stick in the mind.

I agree with what Neil.C said earlier, the cheaper end of the vintage market is a good source of rarely seen watches. Not sure I have seen any of mine on here except my PRS-29a and G10. Here are a couple:

And perhaps the cheapest of all:

I'd respectfully suggest it's not a translation of the advert which is required, more that you should focus on the four alpha-numeric characters displayed on the top two watches themselves.

The propeller logo looks very similar to the one used by Helvetia for their pre-WW2 Fliegers.

    Ah, I see now. Thanks.

TBH I would have never have thought that a date could possibly cause offence especially as the ad was obviously for the Japanese market but people will put a spin on anything nowadays.
