There are a few proper collectors on instagram which generally I think has more draw for women than forums populated by loads of blokes, but they largely wear "mens" watches too.
    Thanks for replying Verv.
I have no idea how instagram works. I have tried to make an account for my safety boat company, but other than putting pictures on I don't really know what I am meant to do. It is all a bit too complicated for me - I am something of a digital dinosaur.

Your explanation of forums being 'a blokes thing' stands to reason, now you have pointed it out.

As a total niaive watch admirer, can you explain please, what makes this such a 'very, very nice watch'. I am not trying to be obtuse, I am trying to understand what to look for. When I first saw the overlapping circles on the face I was confused as it seemed too complicated to read at a glance. My knowledge of watches is very basic.

There is nothing to explain the design is an older vintage style from the 40's a lot of military chronographs watches from that era have similar telemeter dials. I like blued hands and busy dials not everyone's cup of tea so either your going to like it or not.

FP Journe Chronometre Optimum Black Label. In fact would be great to meet some other FPJ owners if they are here!

Fortis Marinemaster compressor. No idea of its provenance (ie : is it a genuine Fortis re-release or was it made from a Fortis kit which were prevalent on eBay at one point). Either way, it has been a welcome part of my collection for some time).

I've not seen any of these here. It's Issey Miyake watch, designed by a Finnish designer Harri Koskinen. I got it from my mother 15-20 years ago, and I recently had a new custom strap made for it.

I posted my "Grossmänner" a few years ago -- but some other possibilities come to mind . . . . .

    Almost certainly -- "Subskription 3a" by Jochen Benzinger . . . . .

    And, a long shot . . . . .

There is no way that these should be rare, but I don't see them owned up to very often on forums . . . .

    . . . . "Zürich Blaugold" and "Braungold" . . . . .

    .

I have a recollection of seeing that De Bethune case with the articulating polished titanium lugs many years ago at the Watchfinder do. It really is a thing of wonder.
    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

In reality, the question is, ‘what watch(es) do you own that you’re willing to bet no-one else on the forum has?’

I don’t believe I have that many at all, but will start by trying these two:

    1. The Dornblüth Kal 04.0. Unusual because it is smaller that Dornblüth’s standard offerings, at 38mm. Only 75 were produced I believe, 50 in steel and the rest in gold. I know a few have passed through the forum, but is this the only one that has remained...

    2. The JLC Master Hometime. I don’t know why I think that no-one else has one here on TZ-UK, I could well be wrong!

What do you own that you think might be the only one here on the forum?
I'm only spotting this thread now but I do have a JLC Master Hometime, so you're not alone in that one!

As one of only 88 made, I'd guess my Formex Essence Superleggera 'Space Rock' is likely the only one on here, though I do wonder - are there any other Formex of any kind on here?

That's lovely, even though the date window/placement looks anything but right imo.

That's a beauty. My only Formex but amazed at the build quality and finish, Some nifty shock absorption system on it too.

Do like that, but I'm a sucker for chronos. Agree about build and finish - mine's immaculate, even under significant magnification. I also love the way Formex are willing to innovate - their carbon-fibre deployants, case-suspensions, interchangeable bezels, novel material combos, &c &c, are all marshalled to ever-better effect. For my tastes, VFM is high too

And I think a few got one of these initially but am I the only one to have kept mine?

What does it say about my taste that nobody else buys what I buy?! A fool? Or just unique?

Yours is far more exciting than mine, Matthew, but on the same theme I may be the only owner of this.. and probably for good reason.

I suspect this Bremont Codebreaker in Rose Gold may be unique on here, only 60 having been made.

I have this very sweet Seiko Sealion, I haven't seen another one in my time on the forum. Not sure the strap is original to the watch although it does have a Seiko stamped clasp.
