    7750 project

A couple of years ago I picked up a 7750 LeJour Chrono which was in poor cosmetic shape, with most of the black ?PVD? finish worn off. I contacted someone who offered to blast the case and, as agreed, I removed the movement and sent it off. That was the last I saw of it.
Recently I got a new, similar style case from an eBay seller, to suit a 7750. The dial size is correct so all should be fairly straightforward. However, at the very least, it will involve fitting the new crown to the stem and I'm nervous about screwing it up. Can anyone recommend someone who would do this for me?

I just saw your post whilst listening to Andreas Vollenweider !
If you get yourself a pin vice from say The Range, you can hold the stem and screw it on with a low risk of damage. Flatten the end of the stem with a fine abrasive stone and gently curve the edges of the end after cutting it very slightly too long.
I will gladly do it for you if you prefer.

Thank you Brendan. I will send it off to you this week. It will be good to have it back as a watch again.

For future reference, there have been a number of very specialised companies setting up in CH over the last ten years or so, purely devoted to movement and case decoration and finishing. Here is one which does PVD finishing:
