    Sunday afternoon films

What do you like on a Sunday?

We all remember back in the day Sunday was a quiet day with little to do,but often around this time there was an afternoon film on one of the 3 or 4 channels.

Timed I expect for after Sunday lunch and the pub closing.

I like something with a good script in black and white, there’s little to beat something with Bogey in like “to have and to have not”.

    As I haven’t a 40s watch this will do while I watch.

    Great Escape
    Colditz
Cockleshell heros etc on a Sunday afternoon.

The Pink Panther was on this afternoon, always like a Peter Sellers film

I’ve always enjoyed watching a film on a Sunday afternoon and have fond memories of the films I watched when I still lived with my parents. The Guns of Navarone, Where Eagles Dare, Towering Inferno, Poseidon Adventure all stick in my mind, along with myriad spaghetti westerns. My partner and I settled in to watch Green Book this afternoon and it felt like the perfect Sunday film, something heightened by not turning the lights on so the film was finished when it was dark outside.
