Your will power must be far superior to mine - i’d have it on my wrist first, and the timing checked second!! Looks great.

Thank you for the write up and it is a watch I have been admiring recently having been made aware of its existence.

Just to clarify, had you already pre-ordered this some time ago because I’m just wondering if these are still available due to them being a limited edition?

I hope to see a wrist shot soon.

    Enjoy.

I managed to get mine via the Breitling website (online) - so jump on the site. I am still on an AD list where I had preordered since August and still not due until November. As our US friends say, “go figure”.

Now that looks really nice! Thanks for the write up and the watch photos. Cant think why you would want to even consider moving that on its just the perfect Breitling watch.

Definitely a thing of beauty, but I think for me I'd want a reissue of a model with white subdials... everything just looks a bit lost with an all black dial. Still, I may yet change my mind

With regard to your reviews generally (and any comments you might have received), perhaps it would be helpful to post them after a period of ownership, with these initial responses being more of an "INCOMING" post. In any event, posts about nice watches are always welcome IMO.

Tony, perhaps you’ll have to wait for the 1963 re-edition! This is the 50th anniversary model for this year.

I need to go back and move my ‘reviews’ into the “review” section too. I take your comments on-board.

I think I'd be wanting a '63 re-edition too, as I just don't get along with Arabic dials, but that's just me.

Breitling have stated in the blurb that this is the first of the reissue series. They’ll want to take advantage of the reworked B01 (converted to handwound). The 63 will be next I recon.

Never really been a fan of the Navitimer models, but that one looks very nice. The hand lumed numerals look spot on, must be a nightmare to do. Congrats on a nice watch.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

Terrific. One has to credit Kern for taking this direction. For years many people have mourned Breitling's failure to do justice to some of the watches in their back catalogue, so this is great to see.

A fantastic bit of kit that, any more pictures of the domed crystal? Lovely that they still hand apply the lime in this day and age.

Excellent review, thanks. I was going to ask you about the crystal but then found the answer within the text. Actually, I do have another question about the crystal. How thick do you reckon it is?

I'd love to see one of these in the flesh side by side with the current Navitimer. Hopefully a future get together will see one on display!

Shame as I was at Bicester today, they had a B01 and a ETA Navi in, could have taken that pic for you!

Am only 10 mins up the road in Buckingham... Is the Bicester store well stocked in general?
    Will need to visit...

Hard to say as most of them hurt my eyes! They have a fair spread of highly polished case and bracelet variants, and some incredibly expensive ladies models. Couple of Super-oceans, Emergencys and lots of 'Bentleys'.
No Colt or Premier models that I could see today.
Worth speaking with Danial the manager if you are looking for something specific.

    Great writeup as usual Martyn!

I'm a Rolex guy but Breitling is my second favorite.

Navitimer is up there with Speedy Moon and Submariner. A watch icon.

    Congrats!

I gather you're still enjoying it Martyn? This was a very well conceived watch by Breitling I think.

I do have a real soft spot for the Navitimers, and this in particular is a lovely looking watch. I've always been concerned that the faces of them are somehow just too big.

    Lovely watch though and congratulations.

Saw in the Goldsmiths website that you can still buy it, which confuses me. So was the limited edition not sold out, even though apparently ADs and boutiques were oversubscribed many times over? You can also get some on Chrono for hardly any mark-up. So the (hopefully) few that bought to make a quick buck will be disappointed. Which is a good result.
