I had an issue with my wifi connection suddenly disappearing from the iPhone today.
The network was connected but only 4g was available to the phone.
I spent over 2 hours on the phone to apple technical support, resetting, restoring, erasing etc.
In the end it was the NordVPN app that was the culprit. Deleting the app solved the issue.
I reinstalled the NordVPN app and wifi is still ok.
It would have been great if I knew this before I lost half a day on it.
Just passing this on to ensure the greatest good for the greatest number.

Under settings in the Nord app there is an option to automatically connect the VPN, maybe it’s enabled.

A simple delete and reinstall is all that's needed. It didn't reinstall the half a day I lost though.
I have Nord and I think there might have been an update recently because it is messing with my PC and causes everything to stall and slow down to a standstill. Had to remove it until I have time to figure out what’s going on.
