Thread: Black Bay GMT one week on the wrist

Black Bay GMT one week on the wrist

A couple of weeks ago I unexpectedly received a call from local AD and have now been wearing it non-stop for the last 10 days or so.

I did briefly wear it with a BB strap and deployant and although very comfortable, it changed the personality of the watch for me so it's back on the bracelet. Anybody else feel the same?

Yes, love it on the bracelet. Not sure I'd bother on anything else.

I much prefer this watch to the 16710 GMT II
It's just a matter of time...

    That good?
I've been offered one from AD and was undecided whether to take it or hold out for a 58.

I think I'm going to have to give one a go...

    Cheers,
    Adam.

I too have been offered one on bracelet and am undecided, they are coming through to ADs now apparently.
I will take a look tomorrow and decide then, I have been waiting so long I have gone off it a bit.

Edit - I decided it’s not for me, so there is a GMT on bracelet in Ernest Jones on Cheapside if you are quick.

Absolutely love mine. It wears smaller than the stats suggest as a result many overlook it.

I'm really pleased with mine too. It's barely been off the wrist since I bought it! Taken mine off the bracelet for now, quite enjoying it on a Rubber B strap.

Had mine 10 months now, been off the bracelet for 60-70 % of this, currently on an Erica’s original, loving it.

Had mine 16 months now, the bracelet remains unused with the stickers on.
    I too favour the Erica's O in blue/red.

Changed mine onto a brown Steveostraps strap shortly after purchase in June 2018.

It might be an indication of my feelings about the lacklustre imho 16710 ;) but I do really like the Tudor GMT, and wear mine a lot despite having numerous more expensive watches to choose from.
It's just a matter of time...

After a couple of friendly chats with my nearest AD I am on the waiting list for one of these. I am just waiting for someone else’s to come in so I can try it in the flesh before I place a deposit.

I will very likely get a Pelagos LHD in the same breath, which I have tried and am smitten with. I am only waiting to make sure I like the GMT as much and then do a deal for both! 😉

The GMT is lovely and gets a lot of my wrist time, like Scott despite having more expensive watches. I find that Tudor watches spends a lot of time on my wrists. The GMT is lovely on the wrist.

Here it is on the Black Bay strap (from heritage 41) earlier today.

    Thoughts?

Only worn mine on the bracelet. IMO they suit the bracelet better, but each to their own. Cracking watch, best value out there from a major Swiss brand.

To note, I sold mine on the leather as I did not like the look and got another on bracelet to mark an significant occasion. The watch IMHO looks best on the bracelet, I rarely notice the fake riveting on the bracelet as I stare at the dial 1/2 my life.

I'm pretty sure it is but can anyone confirm that the bracelet on the GMT is the same as that on the regular Black Bay?

    Cheers,
    Adam.

I know the 41 bracelet doesn't have the rivets, but not sure if the end links are the same height. I think I read someone actually has this combo so if there is a pic - please do share.

Black Bay GMT one week on the wrist

Mines been on Erika’s 70% of the time, leather 20% and bracelet 10%. It’s great on the bracelet but I just love the Erika’s

Mine is still on the original leather, had it a couple of months and it's the only watch I've worn since getting it, apart from on holiday. The gmt did the night shift and my bulova moon did the daytime poolside shift.

I couldn't wear it on a bracelet now! Its firmly fixed in my head as a leather strap watch. Funny how the mind works, I'm not anti bracelet, I have plenty on steel and loads on nato. The Tudor GMT however will stay on leather until the end.

As per my edit on my original post I turned down one of these on bracelet today.
So if anyone’s is after a GMT there is one sitting in Ernest Jones Cheapside
You never know you might get lucky...

Picked mine up yesterday on the bracelet but have the Tudor NATO too incase I fancy a change.

Grats! The nato is nice but with almost identical styling and much much cheaper I’d go for the crown and buckle strap.
