    Shipping watch from Ireland to UK

    Anyone here ship watches from Ireland to UK?
    Royal mail are great, if you're in the uk or near the boarder, but Irish post is terrible, and won't even ship jewelery.

    I drove from Dublin to Forkhill and used RMSD. Other than that you’re looking at UPS

    Sent from my iPhone using TZ-UK mobile app

    Have always used An Post registered post when I am sending to the UK, watch value was always under 1000 though so depends on what you are sending.

    from the an post website:

    The following articles will be accepted but are not insured

    Cash & Coin
    Jewellery or Precious Metals**
    Bank Drafts/Sterling Drafts
    Passports
    Vouchers with a monetary face value*.
    * Postage stamps are excluded.
    ** Customer wishing to send jewellery or precious metals to the UK are advised to avail of our PakSafe service.

    They class watches as jewelry.
    At what price point is postage and insurance simply not worth the hassle of posting? 200 quid, 300 quid?

    I have always used the term "clock parts" when declaring the contents and have never had a watch missing or had to claim.

    But if I was sending something with a high 4 figure value, then a courier is your best option. Dont know what the PakSafe service is.
