TAG HEUER 2000 Aquagraph. Any views?

    Hi all
A friend of mine is thinking in acquiring this watch. It has some interesting features: an impressive look, 500m, it can be operated as a chronograph under the water ...

But I confess that I am not very much fan of Tag Heuer, so I am a little bit bias to give him advice.

    Any views?

My view on TAGs is that there is absolutely nothing wrong with them as watches, except for the silly prices! Way over-priced!

Ditto most of the luxury watch market unfortunately.

One of the best tool watches. Some have complained of the crown digging in the wrist but it is probably my favorite
    non-vintage Tag.

I had one and sold it because of the crown in wirst thing, which is as much to do with the sharp castellations on the crown as to its position low in the case due to the DD chrono module movement.
However, it was a great (and heavy) watch with epic presence, and really bright lume. I also loved the push-to-turn bezel.
The operation of the chrono underwater is possible entirely because the pushers have rubber boots over the top (something missing on the THAG for sale on chrono24 for under £900).
At this age, it is likely that these boots may well be perishing or getting damaged, so make sure they are in perfect nick before it is immersed.

Greatly underrated watch, last of the great Tag Heuers (IMO).

    Not a ‘2000’ though!

I know prices have rocketed recently but that seems excessive. I sold my full set ( bracelet , rubber and box ) for just over half that. I had no end of issues with the crown , moisture getting in the glass and it was back and forth to LVMH more times than I care to remember.
But, I still loved the thing and regret the sale .

Certainly a 2000...was launched as the "2000 Aquagraph"

Was it? Certainly not branded as such on the watch and pretty sure not on packaging either.

Agree- nothing on the watch itself. After TAG Heuer dropped the 2000 name for Aquaracer, it just became "Aquagraph"

They are a nice looking, hefty watch. The only thing I'm not too keen on are the pushers.
