    Inner Tube Replacement Help

I'm at my wits end. After 2 hours of searching on line for an inner tube replacement for my Cannondale Bay Boy I've drawn a blank.

I know there are loads of cyclists on here, so can anyone point me in the right direction or right specialist shop.

The wheel size is 650B x 35c, or direct equivalent old units 27.5" x 1.35". Presta valve.

The old inner tube is a Kenda 27.5" x 1.25-1.50". I can find loads of 27.5" inner tubes on the tinterweb, but none this narrow.

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks.

Although unfortunately not available on line. I just found Baldwins in Wigan do a 650B x 1.5” with free postage. Only took me 3 hours of searching.

But that’s it. Amazing. I’ve dug a bit deeper a most folk use 26” tubes and stretch them a bit, given the unavailability of some 650B tubes.

In fact given the relatively large depth of the tyre compared to a road bike, I’ve just shoved a 700C x 25-32C (622mm diameter) in it for now (that’s all I had at home) and there was little bunching of the tube even though the 650B is 584mm.

Seems to have done the trick to tide me over until I can get some better tubes.

You should be able to get away with a 'normal' 27.5 MTB tube in that rim. It's usually best not to over-stretch tubes width ways (running a 25mm road tube in a 2.6" MTB 29" rim would be asking for trouble) but going the other way shouldn't be an issue. Just ensure you inflate it a bit first and don't trap any of the tube under the tyre as it'll be a bit looser.

I've known a few people who have run 26" in 27.5 with no issue, it stretches, so you could use a 26 x 1.5 or the likes.

That’s what I’ll do next, but the 700c x 25-32 tube is running perfectly happy in my 650b x 35 tyre, based on my cycle to work this morning.

Can’t tell any difference to the previous correctly fitted tube, so will keep it as it is for now.
