Challenge! Guess the price of this watch...

Seriously, try to guess the price without finding it on their website. This is the watch:

I’ll have a go, titanium, 3 hand, crown particularly concealed, leather strap.

I know nothing about titanium so am going to go on between SS and gold. Maybe 8 or 9 bags? I’m saying £8,900-that’s a very Omegaish price.

That’d be a hard pass from me then, even if my numbers come in tonight.

I always wonder with stuff like that what the point is. Can’t see many normal people buying it to wear at that price so is it just a small run future collectors item?

Unless there’s a massive niche following of titanium watch fans that I don’t know about.

There is a thread discussing this watch, with similar reactions to the price. However this is a showcase of new technology / materials etc and that will most likely filter down to every day models over the next few years

Got a link to the thread, and I'll then warn people off this. I DID try the search before posting

Yep, effectively a prototype. The production costs will be absorbed by r and d budget.

I know, I have been here long enough to see people launched at for daring to repeat a Rolex thread. The inhumanity!

Anyway, I see the AT as the price actually making people talk about it being R & D, concept or whatever. I don't buy that, I think the price is making people look for a justification.

Anyway, looking at the advertising page, it is clear the watch does have one stunning feature:

"… Need a time-check? A quick glance at the easy-to-read blackened hands and indexes is all it takes…"

Well done Omega, you can tell the time with it

That is superb! Since very often, the more expensive the watch the harder it is to see the time (white Daytona, Richard Milles), they obviously want to underline that despite the price the hands are actually visible.

So true. In fact some lives depend on the moaning. They probably can’t sleep if they haven’t moaned about something on TZ.

    Thumbs up

Why do manufacturers use these horrible pics of watches to sell them? It looks like a render! Surely a decent real looking pic would be better?!

    As for the price, WTF!

I’m not a fan of the crown... is the telescopic crown the latest greatest innovation none of us knew we needed.

Try a Black dial Daytona, miles better looking imho but an even bigger nightmare to read,
    Thankfully I have a phone.

Mechanical technology is an oxymoron in this digital age. Mechanical will be the novelty of the rich in 20+ years, especially when it comes to wristwatches, as this pricing clearly hints.

I reckon you might have correctly predicted the future.

    Sadly.

Very true, and you could say we are almost there now with wristwatches.

This however is more about lightweight materials and efficient design, which is absolutely the future

Would be interesting to see it in Ti/flesh. Looking at the swatches for my niece the other day at an airport I could not help but thinking that I may not like this ultralight malarkey at all because it will be too light, too thin and too ... smooth. At least RM has physical presence and texture to it.

I personally like it, but the price is hideous. Can’t imagine any watch savvy folk parting with 37£k on an Omega.
