    Another Speedy Clean Up

I posted a thread like this a couple of years ago but can’t find it to resurrect it.

My brother has a Speedy Pro that he loves. He bought it brand new 15 years ago. Despite loving it he doesn’t much care for keeping it clean....yes I know, I don’t understand it either!

Last week he asked me if I could clean it up for him again and I quite enjoy little jobs like that.

Here’s the before pics and please try to keep your tea down when you see the DNA, especially in the clasp:

After a warm bath, some cleaning with a soft toothbrush and a cape cod polish, it now looks like this....

I picked up a cheap ultrasonic bath at Lidl many years ago.

It works well on watch bracelets and avoids pushing the crud further into the links on a badly soiled bracelet.

A brown scotchbrite pad would give a brushed finish to hide the scratches on the clasp.
With a little practice to ensure that you get straight lines, it is really effective.

No, neither time. I also fixed his G-Shock yesterday.

What process's people to let there watches go like this. I use an old toothbrush together with hot soapy water to get rid of all the grime, the only thing is my wife does not know that it's her's that I use.

    Two observations.

-You are a very nice brother.
    -Your brother is a tramp.

    Still laughing. Great post.

Great job, but I'm not sure why you would use Cape cod to polish a clasp/bracelet that is meant to have an ostensibly brushed finish. As mentioned in a previous post, use a scotchbrite pad with light strokes in one direction to get a perfect brushed finish.
