    Euros

I've got some Euros, only 600, left over from our recent Thomas Cook experience and was going to sell them back to the Post Office. However the robbing tawts only offered me £465, like a hold-up in reverse.
I was going to offer them on SC here or on a whatsapp group to any soon-to-be vacationers for around £525. However one pennywise acquaintance suggested hanging onto them till 1st November when they might be worth loads more.
Or should I add to them, say 1000, 10,000 and make a real killing?

    What do the panel think?

If the pound tanks and passes parity (1:1) you'll still have to take a hit to sell the physical notes, so you may just about break even. Over the counter exchange is always a kick in the crown jewels. Though, you could try some of the online services that offer better rates. But that'll involve sending cash in the post.

Are you planning to visit Europe in the next 6-12 months and can afford to keep the notes stashed away?

Short term our exit from the EU will affect the pound but Europe may also be adversely affected, so it may pay to hold long term.

    OP

We were also caught up in the Thomas cook liquidation but luckily booked up another holiday in Turkeybefore the prices went sky high.

I may be interested in the euros but just need to check with my wife if she wants to take Lira or euros.

Sorry guys, I just mentioned it on a Whatsapp group and a chap I know offered me £530 so that's that. Just to be clear this on here was not a sales post, just happenstance.

If you’d have used https://travelmoney.moneysavingexpert.com/ and then selected buy back, the best rate buy back rate was £530 anyway.

Get rid of them asap, they’ll be useless once we leave the EU.

Yes, I based my valuation on a similar site tbh. Post office rate was a shock
