Well it the big lads on the time trial tomorrow, we have taken a day off work to watch it . Considering Masham or Harrogate any suggestions from the cognoscenti on here
Rohan Dennis! Great stuff. But, more important: what bike (brand) did he use for this event? Word has it that he left last summer's TdF because he was dissatisfied with the Merida bikes he had to use during the Tour.
Great to see this today!.

Big day tomorrow - Men's Elite Individual Time Trial.
When you look long into an abyss, the abyss looks long into you.........
Rohan Dennis is the Chris Boardman of the current era.
He is obsessed with being as aero and efficient as possible when time trialing and wants to use the best equipment to help him do this. It was well documented that he did not believe that the equipment that his Bahrain Merida team insisted he used for the TdF time trial was good enough, hence his abandon the day before the individual TT. It was not just the Merida bike he had issues with, but the bars (he wanted to use specific 3d printed ones - the team said no) and the team kit, specifically the aero helmet.
Yesterday he used his old BMC Time Machine, with all of the paint removed. this was done not just to remove the BMC logo's, but to also reduce the weight of the bike by about 200g. He also used the 3d printed titanium bars he wanted to use in France and also his aero helmet of choice.
I think he had a point to prove yesterday, and did it in some style.
It will be interesting to see where he lands for 2020.
A rougher surface trips the air creating a turbulent boundary layer which adheres to the bike for longer, reduces the negative pressure zone behind the bike & reduces drag. In other words it's more slippery through the air & leads to some free speed
Great days racing today!
Tough route, but what a victory for Quinn Simmons!
