Just a shame the vanilla SS versions are more sought after.

I’ll post some pics of mine tomorrow when I’m at the computer, I’m a fan of two- tone watches and I have a few. Not as enthusiastic as I once was for them, but no intention of selling any!

Yeah the wait is painful... Every day I'm hoping I get the call. Can't imagine how painful the wait for the more sought after models (Daytona, Hulk etc.) are...

For those 'go loud or go home' occasions. (also hides under a shirt cuff very well when needed!)

Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

    One golden rule:
No watch looks as good in person as Tony’s pics or
As bad as in Paskinner’s pics ( sorry, Peter if you are still reading).

I agree. Two-tone should be reserved for watches like this, not subs and GMTs .

Also agree. I think, alongside the Datejust, the Daytona is a watch that works so well with two-tone. I would own a two tone Daytona in a heartbeat over one of the SS ceramic versions.

I think Omega did the two-tone thing on sports watches in a more subtle manner than Rolex. My bi-metal Seamaster Pro and Speedmaster are nicer designs IMO, mainly because the bracelets aren't as loud, the gold capping on parts of the links is more pleasing to me than the full-on polished gold centre links that Rolex favour. Brushed gold also works nicely, that 70s Constellation of mine looked really 'in your face' with the gold links polished (as I bought it) but returning to the correct brushed finish transformed the watch back to what it was intended to look like. Centre links on that one are solid gold too, so they lend themselves far better to refinishing. That's one thing I don`t like wit the Omega gold-capped polished buts, if they get a deep scratch it can`t be fixed, but owing to the design (slightly recessed) they don`t pick up damage easily.

However, Omega's current attempt at a bimetal SMP leaves me totally cold, just doesn`t work IMO.

It is highly unlikely that I will get a chance to purchase a SS Daytona at retail and there is no way I'm paying over the odds!
I think it would make more sense to go for the two tone Daytona at MRP.
Often wonder if I should put my name down for the 116503.
I think my preference would be the black dial.

I think the CHNR is a grower. The more pics I see, the more I like it!
It would be nice to see one in the flesh and try it on.

My name on a list for the BLRO, but there is probably not much more chance of getting one of them, than there is of getting a SS Daytona.
I've read a few examples of people putting their name down for a BLRO, then later being offered the CHNR by the AD.
They all seem to be delighted with it.
