Who forgets to take their watches of for DIY

Mmm yet again forgot to take my watch off whilst doing DIY. At least this time it wasn't paint on a semi fabric strap or shaching it against a car and chipping sapphire glass. Luckily not this watch.

Who else just where there watches no matter what.

I wear it no matter. Although I do make sure it's an appropriate watch. My dad will be working underneath his campervan with a gold 50s Avia dress watch still on his wrist. Even that is still going just fine.

    Good I rarely do.
I do try and wear watches appropriately.
It was a beetle I actually broke my last watch on.

No, I wear a watch whatever I'm doing - I certainly don't forget to take it off.

As it’s rated to half the depth of the ocean I’m pretty sure it can cope with anything I do

Bit of paint or muck from the garden comes right off ;)

But I have worked with machines in the past that have magnetised my watch to the point it’s almost running backwards!

I know plenty of old folk that have worn the same watch for years and worn that watch for everything.

The thing is when you own a collection of watches then why wear something decent when you have a beater for knocking about jobs?

Don't think I've ever been caught by surprise and suddenly noticed I'm wearing a nice watch while carrying out DIY etc. I guess I tend to always consider my watch.

My G10 is my knocking about watch, but to be perfectly honest it still doesn't show any damage apart from the odd scratch to the acrylic which I polish or now and again.

Because my decent watches are probably tougher than my cheap watches. If my seamaster Pro gets a ding or a scratch, I really couldn't care less, its just a watch to me, and it wasn't designed to be mollycoddled.

    Everyone's different of course :)

I wouldnt normally take my watch of to do DIY, unless is was doing an up to my elbows in muck job of course, but it would depend on what i was wearing initially really.

I always take a watch off when working with my hands, or wear my trusty Casio f91.

My 20 year old citizen promaster Tough is my go to work watch, and has survived what probably would have killed most watches many times over!

I do this occasionally, but usually try to have an appropriate watch on for what i'm doing. It usually goes wrong when I've got a nice watch on at the weekend and suddenly the wife finds me some 'task' to be done.

It'd depend on the watch I was wearing. I have my Spork and my beaten up SD that I wear for work / DIY. So if I was planning to do some, I'd put one of those on.

Impressive! There again, it looks as if it could have really hurt if the watch hadn't been there to take the impact!

I only take my watch off to hammer nails in.
It's a little awkward but handy if the hammer is out of reach.

Was taking the starter motor off my Moto Guzzi to fettle the solenoid before refitting it.

It was only near the end when my wrist was up against the frame that it occurred to me I shouldn't be wearing my Day-Date for a job like this.
