Assuming that's an option I agree. I've changed mine to various natos etc and always end up realising that the original bracelet looks best.

Bracelet worked better than anything I tried also.

Next was a distressed lighter brown leather NATO.

Any two piece straps just didn't seem to work due to the gap from the case to the start of the straps, so perhaps a fitted rubber B type may work?

i quite like that! been thinking of a curved end red leather if such a thing exists. i do wear it on the bracelet, but prefer strap options as being left handed i tend to scuff bracelets up a lot, mine already has numerous swirlies. curved ends in xl length seem pretty impossible to find though, at least at reasonable prices.

The only strap I've ever seen that looked kind of OK with an Explorer II Polar, apart from the original bracelet, was a dark olive NATO or Erika's MN, but even then it wouldn't be something I'd bother doing myself…

Every pic I've ever seen of the polar on any different straps makes it look 5hite.

Hirsch performance with a red stitching/lining to compliment the GMT hand?

I had mine on an Everest leather strap (dark brown) for about a year and I really liked it. Very high quality. Solid links that fitted perfectly. Good product.

But I drifted back to the bracelet.

It looks great on a plain grey nato, or a light grey/blue nato.
Just so happens that martac do the perfect grey nato for this too, great quality nato and perfect for this watch. It's long so needs to be tucked.

Or get a cheaper plain grey from cns, which is shorter at 27cm in length and trim to your liking.

tried it on a zillion natos, zulus, 2 pieces, leather, mesh, perlon, isofrane style and even a rubber b (too short) but this is the first thing thats both looked good and been wearable 24/7 in my eyes aside from the bracelet. i do use the bracelet sometimes but i'm really really hard on them being left handed.

Does it have to look good on it 24/7?
I have straps that are not my fav but on certain days with certain outfits they just work. None of my watches stays on the same steap/bracelet for longer than a few weeks anyway. New straps is a nice way to stop me spending a fortune on watches, make what I have feel new!

I actually like the dark olive nato look above - surprisingly good. Red perlon works too.

I had on a Nato that matched the black/white/red colour scheme. The sun was setting, hence the colour cast!

I always think the 'Mandarin Orange' Rubber B looks quite striking with the white dial Exp II.

I struggled in finding a combo which I thought worked well with the explorer many years ago and decided I could not better the bracelet. One of the most comfortable of the Rolex’s on the wrist when worn with the bracelet.

That looks great, the only choice I’d go with if I was to wear one off the bracelet

How about desert sand/orange zulu diver nato? I've seen it before on a nato and thought it looked great.

The Polar Explorer II (...not eleven...) is one of those rare watches that really doesn't look very good on anything but it's bracelet.
Subjective of course, but I haven't seen any combination that doesn't make it look like a cheap Ice watch (oh hai RubberB).

It looks amazing on the bracelet, wear it how it was intended :)
