A-13a pilots watch with central seconds chrono function.
What would be your favourite or interesting “grab and go” watches? Perhaps an interesting quartz or quick-to-set automatic ... ?
18Q cosc
Accurate as anything, 300m depth rating, grab and go.
"Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. The third time it's enemy action."
'Populism, the last refuge of a Tory scoundrel'.
CWC G10 is my grab and go.
Tough enough, cheap enough and usually showing pretty close to the right time
Dave
All of them.
I class all of these as 'grab and go'.
Most of my collection are quartz, so it depends on your definition of interesting?
Most commonly grabbed are:
Marathon Navigator
Speedmaster X-33 Gen 1
Seiko 7a28 Chrono
Omega Time Computer II
PRS-40
I currently have 9 g shocks. Love them all but I guess my manual wind Hamilton officers watch is pretty good for that too site it's so quick to set and wind

PRS18Q (on a Nato of course), or for something a little more smart my Longines HC quartz on bracelet.
Quartz Sinn for me, easy to wear for most occasions and dresses up or down with various straps.
One of my two grab and go's Scurfa Diver 1

Always an Aqua Terra Quartz for me. Time is always correct, looks smart and plenty tough enough to handle anything I can throw at it.

Not interesting whatsoever but my quick-grab watch is a 5610. Tough as old boots and doesn’t need locking away when not in use. There’s something liberating about wearing something so basic.
For me it would have to be my Omega X33 Speedmaster SolarImpulse. Because it's on a nato it's so versatile and I always wear it while at work.

Sold the Emergency but still have the Aerospace. This is my grab and go watch.

This one...
That's why I bought it - Accurate enough - & being Solar it should be charged & ready to go at any time.
Interesting - as it has been mildly modded, with new shroud & domed crystal.

Ive been wearing this as my 'grab and go' watch for a few weeks, best of both worlds, original 6309 7040 large case, with quartz 7548 movement dial and hands, internally domed sapphire and solid link oyster style bracelet.
Cheers..
Jase
For work, a Grand Seiko 9F Quartz SBGX263.
At weekends, then a Quartz again - either a CWC G10 or Apeks Diver (both of which punch way above their modest price in terms of simple enjoyment)
For me a "grab and go" is something that goes with just about any outfit - so usually something like my Sinn 656, or Seiko 7A38-703B. If dressing up, the Speedie Pro. I can just put it on and worry about winding and setting it later.
If the need should ever arise, whatever I had worn the night before. Why the rush?
When I had it, I always thought the B&R Demineur was a cracking grab & go watch... or of course a G-Shock but that's hardly a novel response :)
we are spoilt for choice in this department now aren't we?
so many reliable, accurate, tough and very affordable watches available to us. for me, if im gitin' down n dirty its the bombfrog 500 or gym work is the G-shock. general everyday on site i switch between the sbbn037 i just got, my A13-a on Sinn 20mm rubber (a match made in heaven), the PRS-18Q cosc is as good as any and every now and then i take the Newmark 6b for a day. out and about on an evening or catching up with mates its the GS GMT 9f.
prior to this group it would have been the Sinn UX or EZM, any number of seiko tunas or the old SQ's and eco Citizens.
i'm in the process of having my BFK modified and spruced up to join the ranks of grab and goes.
the choice is fantastic.
Thanks for the inspiration, been looking at picking up something in this area but keep ended up with an automatic...
Until recently I had a Bulova Precisionist as a standby grab and go, so accurate it was almost annoying! Zeno Prs3 on duty now, as I gave the Bulova to my brother.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
Scurfa. So well built.

I would think all watches are grab and go. i dont have one i cant have on my wrist, set and running in under a minute. The quickest will be one of the casio digi watches, just throw them on, no worrying about anything, specifically the 5610, as battery nevery runs out & time is automatically set.
Both are light and super comfortable.
I have quite a few grab and go watches at the minute - all are either non-dates (which are quite quick and easy to set), or quartz, and include:
Sub 14060 COSC
Tudor Ranger
Tudor BB (Various)
Omega Skywalker
Omega SM300 60th
Omega SM300 steel/sedna
Breitling Aerospace Evo
Casio G Shock (various square 5600 models)
Although I would say that most of my autos don't take that long to set, and sometimes I just like wearing one of the above rather than it being a quicker options.
It's just a matter of time...
I’ve got 2 grabbers, one vintage and one modern ...
A Vostok komandirskie although I though it had died today when I would it up from flat and it took ages for the second hand to get moving.
I still don't trust their quality yet

PRS 25 Everest, wear it every day on leather at the moment. Classic look punches well above its weight!
Breitling Aerospace, Zeno PRS4 or G-Shock 5610, depending on how much potential for abuse.
For the money the Timex Q reissue wins in my book
For general use, even nights out where drink may be taken this one is usually my grab(wind) and go watch.
1941 Doxa DH. It's small so doesn't tend to get hit by doorjambs etc, even then it seems it'll take a clatter and keep on going. I wouldn't submerge it or anything, but I replaced the original lead based seal in the back with a thin rubber one and the crown seems to have kept most of its integrity, so the odd splash of water wouldn't worry me. I've worn it when I've gone fishing often enough.
My old grab and go is the 2012 CWC quartz in the background. It was very recently demoted by the 2019 watch in the foreground.
