    New sekio 5 (skx)

    New jewellers in my local town has opened and he had a good selection of new sekio 5 skx.

    Do these actually have a screw down crown? Think it’s a shame if they don’t, last Seiko Diver I had without one let water in just from a few swimming trips.

    From what I’ve seen online they’re non screw down and only 100m WR. Prob been shafted because everyone wants hand winding for some reason.

    I did see a reply on an article saying they do have screw down but everything else says not & so does a 100m WR rating.

    It does rather seem they’ve been made for the people who want to mod SKX’s, they probably looked at the models getting barmy money for their watches on eBay just because it’s got some awful mods.

    Never tried one on but curious. Seems the enthusiast community loves them...must be a reason why!

    They don’t have screw down crowns James. The modding world is already swapping SKX007/009 parts into them.

    Quite possibly. The prices of SKX has gone through the roof at the moment.

    Right I have seen enough! Ordered mine, green dial. Will post up some pictures/review when it arrives.
