I rewatch this every few years - just wonderful, sublime TV.

I can actually also recommend the short-lived US version, although it wasn't successful, it is, despite some flaws, still very watchable.
So clever my foot fell off.

John Sim is a fantastic actor, I loved this when it was first aired on TV in Australia in the mid 2000's. The Gene Hunt character is superbly acted too. Its a shame we dont see Sim on the box more often. I can highly recommend a mini series from the 90's called 'The Lakes', Sim is superb in this too.

I see that Ashes to Ashes is also on iPlayer. For some reason I didn't ever watch the final episode, so will definitely be watching that one.
I absolutely loved Life on Mars when it first aired. I really want to watch it again, but slightly concerned that it won't be as good as I remember.

‘This investigation is moving faster than a spastic in a magnet factory’.

    What a line.

The Lakes was the first time I became aware of John Simm - excellent series. Life on Mars is a favourite that I have on DVD and ripped to my NAS for streaming as required. Simm and Glenister were simply brilliant.
