Not exactly but I do have the slate dial version and love it.

Its the first Rolex I really fell for about 15 years ago after seeing it in a GQ watch feature and loved the flashes of red in a relatively understated watch size/style.

I did trade it for something different a couple of years later because trading was easier and cheaper in those days and then regretted it.

Bought another from USA about 2 years later and now its one of the longest serving watches in the collection. Very easy to wear and unless you are a large man the perfect size at 36MM without showing it off.

Doesn't get people salivating like the rest of the SS sports watch and all the better for it.

I think that the white-dialled steel and rose gold version is a thing of beauty. I'm always keeping a casual eye peeled, as it happens.

I think all iterations of the Turn-O-Graph are underrated - the last version was a high spec watch with a modern solid link bracelet too.

Personally I think they are all brilliant and I do scratch my head on why they are overlooked especially when other models are fawned over.

I totally agree and it is one of the mysteries of the watch collecting world.

The "dealers" seem to have just a few and there appears to be more for sale in the US - maybe because of the "Thunderbird" connection

I'm a bit overspent "watch wise" at the moment but I think this will be my next purchase - the older "vintage" models are also very attractive - a flash of "gold" can make all the difference

    pink gold

I've pinched the image from eBay - a UK dealer sale

(now isn't that far more attractive than a "Hulk"?)

Yes, but a blue TT Sub is nicer than both and would fit my wrist better.
It's just a matter of time...

Never understood why they were so unloved when they were freely available, still in my want list one day.

I always wanted one but tried a couple on in the mid 2000s and found the bezels VERY easy to turn.

I felt it a good alternative to a DJ, less so as an “office friendly Submariner” option.

Maybe I just tried 2 particularly slack ones?

I tried one this weekend, blue black dial and it was really nice, just felt a bit small even tho I was wearing an oysterquartz. They are seriously underrated yet there are few bargains around

A really good point. Even although they appear not to be rated - they seem to command strong money generally.

The red seconds hand is nice and if the article I have just reading on t'internet is to be believed, the 1st Rolex watch with a rotating bezel. I wonder how the rotating bezel is accommodated in the DJ case - has anyone seen one stripped down?

Too green, the standard sub is much nicer.

    Rolex Datejust Turn-O-Graph 116264 - White Dial

I’m fairly new to all of this, so learning all the time and I’ve had my horizons widened yet again by this watch. I never knew such a thing existed but what a lovely thing it is!

    More homework required....

I did have the blue dial for a while. I should probably have kept hold of it, but I was lusting after the white (which I never snagged).

Having tried one, I have seen an older yacht master for the same money and somehow that seems a better call

When you see the thing on someones wrist, it looks fine.

I reckon that one day 36mm will be the flavour of the month, it is a size that lies well on most mens wrist.

36mm is fine on an 8” wrist, I agree

Personal taste Mate, 39/40mm is my preference but you buy whatever makes you happy.
