    Fortis Classic Cosmonaut Steel LE

Rather than hijacking the thread on the Fortis Stratoliner, I thought I’d start a new post for my new watch.

Purchased from Jura in one of their sales. I’ve been after B42 Cosmonaut Chronograph but never got around to actually buying one. At around £2000 this was too good to pass up.

    A Valjoux 7750 movement.

I changed the tan coloured strap it came with and would have liked it on a metal bracelet but I’m not paying £300 for it.

It is a handsome watch although I think the hands could be a bit thicker
I have to say my Fortis watches are the only watches I keep on a bracelet
    They are rather good quality

That’s my only criticism is the hands. Aesthetically, they look good but against a light dial it can be a bit of struggle - though I am talking a split second.

I bent over and bought a new Fortis bracelet for my Spacematic. It's the double-bar fitting a la Breitling Aerospace and it's superb.

Still smarts a bit though thinking about the price I paid

Nice, like the look of that a lot!
    - I’ve been a Fortis fan for a long long time. They lost their way a few years ago, everything went a bit big and odd, but they made some proper classics and still knock out a few nice ones.
The quality, at least of the dozen I’ve probably had, various ages from ‘90’s lemania movement chronos and through the B42 range, was always top notch.
