RIP Dave.
Dave wasn't the most active on TZ-UK and had only posted once this year. https://forum.tz-uk.com/member.php?3824-dave-charlton
Spotted this thread on MWR from last week:
I've bought the odd Seiko 7Axx from him over the years and as others have stated in that thread, found him a true gent.Sadly Dave passed away on Tuesday after a 18 month battle with cancer at he age of 64
It was a true pleasure to have known him a great northern gentleman whose down to earth humble yet powerful & inspiring personality helped many including myself & will not be forgotten. Founder & chairman of The Officers Club & Petroleum Ltd the UK's largest independent menswear retailer with close to 200 stores & 2000 staff, yet as busy as you could imagine Dave always found time for his passion of military watch collecting & rarely turned down a meeting where in his true fashion there was always a case of rare military watches to view & learn from as you can glimpse from his contributions here on MWR
There is information regarding his funeral next Friday from his daughters Poppy & Amber over on Facebook "Dad made it very clear that he wanted anyone he’d ever met, that felt they’d like to celebrate and say goodbye, to feel welcome at his service"
Regards
Mr.H

I saw that thread over on MWR
It is sad news
He was a fountain of knowledge regarding CWCs
My thoughts are with his family
Terribly sad, it's always a shock when a member here passes.

Ralph Waldo Emerson: We ask for long life, but 'tis deep life, or noble moments that signify. Let the measure of time be spiritual, not mechanical.
