    A quick SOTC

I realised today that numbers have crept up, as opposed to going down. Same old story, but it enabled me to recover a couple of lost (Tuna) loves that I'd really missed since allowing them to be moved on. Anyway, here's a quick run-down of the collection as it stands today... the GO is on SC right now but I think I'm about to withdraw it. Anyway, it's a nice mix of old and new, including a couple of birth year watches from 1960 which I'm rather fond of, as well as the very hard to get BP and GS. I really do love the vintage Tuna though. Oh, and the 5513 and 806 (and the...)

Not sure how I'll ever get the number down, to be honest.

Dare I say it Tony, but your collection is looking quite "stable". Maybe you are getting close to horological happiness.

    Great collection and stunning pictures

They're all fantastic but I still feel a GW-5000 should be in there ;)

Chuck a G-shock in there and you've a watch for every occasion / use. The JLC is the stand out for me

Weren’t you trying to get to 6 Tony?!

BP and 5513 for me, and that 666 looks cracking on the lizard.

Hope you’ve been enjoying the bike, the G&D thread feels too epic for me to catch up on!

That's not such a bad number Tony. A great collection.

Personally I would dump the Aerospace (really, what is the point of it, you have a phone for accurate time and a light), the vintage Navitimer (you've other classy vintage and it just looks manky) the Grand Seiko (it's vanilla and you have other light dials), and you'll be in a great place IMO.

Maybe also the Daytona. When wouldn't one of the others be a more subtle or classy alternative?

    Happy to help! ;)

There are so many great watches there that I would struggle to pick out one.

Superb photography as others have said.

Glad to see you still have the 5513 Tony, it’s truly magnificent.

Lovely Tony. Nice variety and mix. I think one too many Rolex, but not sure which one I'd let go. All would be incredibly tough to replace. Best to just enjoy this collection!

    Thanks very much, all.

Re the Aerospace... it's a bloody fantastic watch and I wear it often. Mind you, i have another couple of grab & go's now, so maybe it'll get slightly less wrist time going forward. Also agree about the 5513, but I certainly don't feel that I have too many Rolex as for the most part they offer a good bit of variety. I would jump at the chance of adding the ceramic GMT and/or Daytona too, if I could avoid paying stupid money for them.

Some of these have been with me for many years now, as my flipping days are long gone... I do still like to tinker around the edges, though. As for being done, it’s really just the two ceramics mentioned above that I’m really after but I’m not sure that’s going to happen. I’d probably switch from the 16600 to a 666 too, although I missed a nice one the other day and they don’t tend to appear that often.

    PS Sorry, Jon

What a fantastic collection! Love the 5513, not keen on the Navitimer. That shot of the Pam makes me want to try one...

The standout for me is the TT Daytona, which is strange given some of the other beauties! Think I’m getting a bug 🥴

Don't ask. My house refurb got carried away, and instead of using my rainy day fund I sold the AP. In fact, I undervalued it quite considerably when I sold it, since which time values have skyrocketed again.

    I'm still kicking myself.

Ouch, for some reason I thought you must have sold it recently which would have been a great time. Like you I sold off a few for house building work that if I had kept would have paid a fair chunk of the work due to those price increases. It hurts.

Some great watches, but what I really like is that it's quite an eclectic mix.

On a far more modest scale, I aim for the same... Well less aim for than meander towards .

    Lovely photographs too.

    Thanks for sharing them.

Very nice, both the variety as well as the condition of the vintage watches. One of the nicest collections around.
