Thank you for this. It is alarming how good the fakes are getting!

Can you show the module on the fake?

If you purchased a Casio via Amazon, is it reasonable to assume that it would be genuine?

I haven't opened it yet, but presumably it will be crap, since it advances 30 seconds a day. When I have a moment I will open it out of curiosity.

In Amazon there are no problems, you can buy quiet.
    P. D Now counterfeiters are very clever, like most people, they do not know the Japanese model very well, because it tries to confuse, but now it is one of the best copies I've seen.

Personally I'm not so sure about that. Amazon marketplace sellers could have anything (even if fulfilled by Amazon). There are no guarantees.

If buying from Amazon themselves then one would hope that they would supply only genuine items but my impression is that they buy watches from anywhere they can get them (even though they have AD status for many manufacturers). It seems to me that it is not impossible that they could be sold good fakes from time to time without realising it.

Anyone hear of fake Casio f-100’s in circulation - the late 1970’s model ?

The resemblance is amazing, the alarm noise is the same, the silkscreens are thinner and the colors less intense than the original models, but very similar, that you can see with two original F-91W models, the Made in Korea in principle from the 90s and the current China DH.

Do the fakes spell CASIO if you hold down the bottom right button?

I was told that was the quickest way to tell a fake. Thankfully both my son's appear to be genuine based on this test.

Not that system is already copied since 2008, counterfeiters already do.
