People say the sub is the most versatile, i disagree. The aquanaut literally and i mean literally goes from the boardroom to the beach. It has more than enough water resistance as well, 20m more than an equivalent oyster perpetual, or any Rolex Steel watch which people can agree are bullet proof. You strap a submariner in the boardroom and unless it’s vintage ur gonna appear a total noob. Let alone wearing a diving watch with a bespoke suit, forget about it.

The movement is rock solid, thin, svelte robust. It’s light and super comfy on the rubber strap, lume is amazing, it’s jus the best 3 hander period. IMHO ofc.
An aquanaut on a rubber strap looks as bad with a suit as a sub

Not to me, but I couldn’t care less what people wear to the board meetings.
It's just a matter of time...

I hope you learned your lesson and asked "market price" for the Nautili ?

Don't get me wrong I'd wear either but to think pitching up with a rubber strapped sports watch makes you look better is daft

I would be surprised if anyone noticed that you were wearing it, in any context. i love them... but they are invisible. To others i have found it is like they are cloaked.

I have never got the 'Patek' thing ever TBH.

I have spent enough over the years to own one or two but they just do not do anything for me at all.

    Sorry to the fans/owners.

Very helpful of folk who couldn't care less about PPs to care enough to post so that they can show they don't actually care.

How dull would life be if we liked the same things...

I like PPs and they are a sound investment - their forum is generally full of kn0bs though.

isn’t this thread about the buying process, which slightly assumes that you have or are going through the process..

How come? Everyone is free to have their opinions. Have you had a 5167A before? What I find ridiculous is people commenting on how a watch is without even spending extended periods with it. I have owned many subs and many pateks. The 5167A is amazing. I still own a sub and 5167. The sub is a great watch. But the 5167A is definately more versatile in a variety of situations. Once you own both watches and try it out, then you are in a position to label my comment as ridiculous.

Totally disagree. But were all free to like what we want.

100% agree! Comparing a Sub and an Aquanaut just doesn't make sense. I have a 16610 and a 5164 and I love both watches, but the PP is a different class when it comes to movement and finish. Doest it justify the premium pricing? Well that is a totally different and highly subjective matter.

Pairing it with a suit? I wouldn't use either, but at least the aquanaut will fit under the cuff....
