Erica’s Original..... not sure if up to the task!

So picked a lovely EO from here the other week, but it’s not faring well.
I’ve managed to “pluck” a thread so a loop sticks out now, and when do anything with a vigorous motion through the wrist (fnarr) it has enough stretch to slip the watch head around my wrist.

Looks classier than a NATO but I’m not sure it has got the minerals to manage with my lifestyle.

    Anyone else loving/hating?

I find them annoyingly fiddly to fasten.

I have three of them on watches and have never had an issue. They are worn in rotation though so don’t get a rest deal of constant wear.
Stupid question but is the strap adjusted correctly? I tend to wear mine a little tighter than a NATO but I have never had it slip around the wrist.

Call me tight, but as only a very occasional NATO wearer, the price puts me off compared with a decent (Watch Gecko or similar) NATO

Yeh, I also wear it tighter due to the elasticated nature - but I was removing some stair rails and ended up ragging them out/hammering the brackets out of the wall etc and it was slipping about then, so it was quite physical work but still annoying.

One thing I’ve been curious about, do you keep them fastened or buckle up every time?
I have a ZuluDiver equivalent and something similar from NickMankey Designs and I always keep them fastened and just slip them over my wrist.

I have the exact same problem. Takes me a good few attempts to get the hook in the very narrow gap between the fabric and metal clip.

I have wide hands so this isn’t an issue for me. They have to come undone.

I've never had any issues with movement, I guess it could depend on how tight fitting initially is
as above I 'undo' before putting on
as the straps have stretch I find them easy to connect, watch face down/wrist up and raise the part the hook goes into

personally prefer to Natos etc. as they have a neater look when fastened

Never snagged an EO, but nevertheless if you do, guess it’s game over due to its composition.

I'd try to pull any loose thread loop back back through with a needle first,
not necessarily game over but agree it's look would certainly be tarnished if it couldn't be rectified

Maybe once, but their latest versions are atrocious for the money.

I used to think the same until I tried the CWC branded NATOs Silvermans sell.
    They are great.

I thought they were Phoenix also but just with the CWC branding?

Nope they are quite different. The material is a different weave, much thicker with a ribbed (for my pleasure) texture
The hardware is a more chunky
I will try to get a few pictures up this evening.

    Edit a few pics

CWC straps on left Phoenix on Right
The lighter CWC is their ‘vintage’ grey the darker is the modern strap

Modern CWC strap on the right Phoenix on the left.

Phoenix colour variation dependant on age and wear.

Colour comparison between CWC and Phoenix.

I’ve swum and snorkelled with mine, still looks pretty good. It’s a NDC but the same as an EO apart from the branding and the price.

I have it fitted tightly but still comfortable, it hasn’t moved on my wrist yet. I never unclip it, just stretch it over my hand.

I guess the original application was essentially disposable so maybe they aren’t designed to withstand rough treatment without showing it.
