The article reads like a horror movie... all goes well until you get to the price, then you either faint or start screaming.
Interesting, and a cool looking slab of a movement, but does the watch have to look quite so plasticy? Better in real life perhaps...
I reckon that movement cost a pretty penny to make. But otherwise not really sure what omega are smoking....
I actually really like the look of the watch but the price is mental!
I like it. If it had a normal crown, rotating bezel, white dial, date and GMT hand and cost 1/12th the price I would be in for one.
It’s not for me
The technology is a nice idea but I can’t really see the benefit TBH
In addition the watch case and dial look like a Swiss Army INOX that has been on a diet (and not in a good way).
I thought it looked decent enough until I read tot he bottom and saw the price. I still think it must be a typo!
Solving a problem that doesn`t need solving?
I read the Hodinkee article first thing this morning before it had a price, or even a diameter listed. Checked back this afternoon and had to look at 4 other articles to be sure they hadn't got the numbers wrong.
$48k. What the?!
I was most interested in the blue but was concerned, given the exclusively face on shots, that the dial and strap colours weren't also reflected in the Omega logo on the crown. Turns out it's all irrelevant now anyway.
They are quite horrible.
Holy ceramized titanium . That's an awful lot of money.

On the one hand l sympathize with omega, in that they constantly show a greater willingness to push boundaries than the brand they quite obviously try to pursue.
More than often, though, this works against them - and this is yet another occasion where this is the case...
...as has been said, this is a watch worth one tenth of the asking price. If the brand they seek to pursue had have released the same watch, then the asking price would have been seen to have been a bargain and people would be on a waiting list begging to receive one.
It would also have looked a lot better...
Absolute joke. Who is going to buy these watches? How many of these do they actually think they will shift? They have lost the plot!

Barmy.
Omega appears to be pursuing the Swiss Army Inox style guide.
LOL I've actually shouted 'fourtyeighfrigginggrand!' out loud as I had 10K price tag in my mind thinking it will be grossly overpriced. Ffs..
PS and now after looking at the hodinkee close up images I actually frigging WANT one! The one with red seconds hand and matching strap, ffs x 2.. stupid watch talk fora, agrrr..

The point of the watch is showcasing their new technology which will filter down to their every day models.
It’s a little bit like a concept car, but one that you can buy (albeit at a silly price).
I quite like it, and look forward to seeing what they do next with the materials and ideas
oh dear so FUGly
I stopped at the bit that said "the watch was developed in collaboration with its longtime golf ambassador Rory McIlroy ..."
Now now lads, there's a 10% off coupon available for Goldsmiths which brings it down to just over $44k. Bargain!

Can't decide what's worse, the design, price, or the fact it's a golf watch.
And when it comes to service time, I imagine the owners jaw would drop once more! - I’d just pop into Timpsons on the local High Street for a quick spray of WD40

Well, the golfing thing is definitely not helping..

I take it this Gamma Titanium is different than what they’d quickly abandoned on the Blancpain Bathyscaphes?
I'm not sure if they sell more than 10 of them for that price.
It's sad to see how Omega is lost in their image this times.
Do they put some gimmicks on the movement like on pam 700? They play in the same mad price ballpark but one is an LE of 50 (I think) vs general release for this omega
Whilst I don't mind the colours, not sure I'm liking the lines on the dials. Bit like the new waves, marmite, not for everyone. Prefer the old SMP and AT, IMO.
