Long sleeve with a Jacket and or a tie. Or your employer has a dress code.
Otherwise wear what you like the rest of the time (or what the wife tells you to wear )

Whoever does not know how to hit the nail on the head should be asked not to hit it at all.

They tend to call them tunic or riviera collars these days. I wear them quite a lot.
Nothing wrong with short sleeved shirts on holiday. I have a few cotton J Lindeberg ones that are great for the boat or the beach as they’re easy to put on and take off as needed, dry quickly and are a lot smarter than a t shirt (Something to be generally avoided post 30).
My advice is to overlook the models and language being aimed at the youngsters and hit asos. Most stuff comes in a variety of fits, is good quality and well priced and the website is very intuitive.

Never went to Wigan, always wished I had. Still love the music.......Radio Leeds Northern Soul show (6-8, Saturdays) is a 'must listen for me' every week, usually whilst cooking a curry. My kitchen doubles up nicely as a dance floor, shame the knees aren`t up to it thesedays.
As for the shirts, Ben Sherman check or the iconic Fred Perry Polo are my weapons of choice at soul events.
The best short sleeved shirt I've ever had was a black and white checked Bennie circa 1971.....added to my petrol coloured parallels and my monkey boots, I was one smart skinhead.
Until about 4 years ago I was still wearing Fred Perry's and the grey Fred Perry Cardie plus monkey boots or comos/royals but i just stopped.
I still think the Skinhead/Suedhead fashion is the smartest ever.
I like listening to Craig Charles on a Saturday evening

Short-sleeved shirt + Linen = not good...
Hahaha no I never wore those Spencers and I only ever went to one all nighter.
Me and Mrs RD were in Wigan one Saturday and the cast from one the Soul films were in.
One lad had an Adidas bag I'd had around the late 70's but mine was for boxing.Still nostalgic though.
One of my mates back around '74 had a record box with one in it 'Shing a Ling'
And the de rigueur full length leather

Have a look at Next.
Fleming wrote Bond as favouring short sleeve shirts because, it was said, he shared the author’s phobia of dirty cuffs.

Charles Tyrwhitt. Online and they always seem to have an offer and do most sizes.
I always wear short sleeved shirts, to me buying a long sleeved shirt and rolling the sleeves up is madness
Just buy a short sleeved shirt
