NATO’s, why have I taken so long to convert???

So I finally managed to get a Precista PRS-82 back into my ownership (my perfect watch for daily wearing and work).

The seller dropped in some un-needed Nato’s, I’ve never been a fan until last night.

Suffice to say I love the look of them on the Precista, just ordered a black and grey strap now and will see how that sits on this great watch.

I think some people don’t get on with the feel of them . But personally I love them . When I’m on holiday the bracelet comes off and two or three NATO’s go in the luggage . You get a new look each time.
That combo you’ve got on looks excellent imo

Try a eulit perlon. Better than a nato !

NATO’s, why have I taken so long to convert???

I have DIY posts on Watchuseek and RLT for converting one to a single strap with cloth keeper. For that original Bond look….

Nylon (and perlon) straps are great for summer, exercise, gardening, because you can soak then in warm water, and wash and/or rinse clean and air dry, when they dirty or soiled. Many (military styles particularly) look great when they get a bit broken in, faded, softened up. (DEFINITELY soak in fresh water and air dry after exposure to salt or swimming pool water.)

If a new nylon strap is particularly course or stiff, just throw in the wash a few times and (very important IMHO) air dry. Remove buckles that are fitted with spring bars to avoid corrosion/rusting.

I do this also, bright orange or whatever for by the pool or on the beach, stripes for wandering about, and a single dark colour for the restaurant and bar. Beats taking a couple of watches and worrying about the ones in the room.

NATO all day long. The only strap that you can drop into the washing machine when it gets dirty.

You wait until you try an Erica's Original. Miles more comfortable plus they've transformed two watches I struggled to wear on bracelet, straps and standard NATOs. I'm a complete convert (although still have a couple of watches on Eddie's NATOs. Haven't found any better).

Just learned the value of nato straps the hard way. Windsurfing in Lanzarote, I wore my Seiko on a 5 ring zulu and let my 14 year old wear my PRS18q on an Obris Morgan isofrane-a-like. Suffice to say that some grouper in the Atlantic will have the right time for a number of years to come!! Bye, bye Precista!

I'm also quite a late convert to 'nato straps' via a similar incident, a mate I was diving with on the 'Breda' lost a Seiko in the same way,

    Love this combo.

I hate NATO straps, can't stand extra piece under watch, tucked end between steel keepers that is always visible @12 side.

One piece nylon straps on the other hand is what I wear all summer.

Great combination on the Ops watch.
Does anybody know where I could source (UK) a very similar nato (black/khaki, black/cream etc.) but with a black/PVD buckle?
