    Rado Captain Cook

    Hi,

I’m in Spain on my holidays and I’ve found one of the LE 37mm Rado Captain Cook R32500315 in one of the local watch shops.

They are offering me it for €1500.

Just wondered what everyone thought of the watch.

If my wife wasn’t with me, I’d probably snap it up. But it’s going to be difficult hiding it from her.

    Regards,
    MDSWATCH.

Lovely watches but a bit too small for my tastes. There's a newer 42mm version out just in case you're interested - personally I'm hanging on to see how the new Golden Horse will look on my wrist.
Pricewise, I think you'd be better off waiting for it to be cheaper in the UK - there have already been quite a few "as new" 37mm Captain Cooks selling on eBay for around the £1K mark and the standard Chrono24 dealer price seems to be around 1500 Euros new anyway.

The wife isn’t keen on me spending the money. So looks like it’s not happening anyway!

It retails at €1695, so not a big saving.

Lovely watch, my only problems with it are legibility under bright lights and the the lack of a good bracket. I had a chance to buy one for less than £1000 in Heathrow last April and I'm kicking myself I passed it up.

i’ve got The Ghost Captain version and don’t have any issue with legibility of the hands and hour markers in bright lights, but the cushion crystal means the minute markers on the chapter ring are invisible from most angles.
