any love for this model out there - just picked a black faced model - so much more interesting than all this modern stuff
just trying to decide which strap to buy for it
anyone have one?
I wish I did own this particular model, and I hope that someone on the forum has one to post. I saw an immaculate one for sale in NY but at a price that was just too painful to contemplate.
I have one (at least I think it is) that arrived via eBay from Turkey completely beaten up (it was correctly described too, so I knew what I was getting into!). I've no idea what the owner did for a living but perhaps they stirred gravel by hand, or used their watch to scrape a tunnel out of a prison cell. Anyway, it appears they tried to prise off the back with a chisel.
Off it went to Rich Askham, and with the assistance of a donor movement and new crystal was sorted and is one of my favourite watches. Unfortunately I'm not sure Rich likes me anymore.

I just missed out on a really nice one(blue dial with ghost bezel) that sold for a bargain price on the forum SC a year or so ago, still think about it. Wonder if it's still on the forums. Great watches.
I agree - I keep going back to it - it's that type of watch you'd look to wear and get a reaction from people who see it
There are a lot of these "crazy" style watches of the 70's that are now available for hardly any money and it's now that you can appreciate what the designers and watch makers did.
collecting watches and enjoying them does not have to be an expensive hobby
The two horizontal dial manual wind has a Valjoux 7734 Movement
I'm searching for the white faced model - one in good nick - most seem to be well used

Not quite a Navigator but from a similar time
Powered by a Lemania 863 manual base which is the same as the 861 in speedmasters, not one I wear anymore. Should really move it on, but it’s pretty

Navigator Seastar here, v7734, a classic vintage chrono and seem to be very reasonably priced and a nice size at 41mm excluding the crown.
