    Servicing A Seamaster.

    TLC required for a Seamaster.
    6 years since last service.
    Advice gratefully received.

    Needs new bezel insert.
    Will they refinish faded hands.
    Should I go Omega AD.
Do AD give updated warranty similar to rolex.
Used Fraser hart last time. (Never Again)

Why not speak to Swatch in Portsmouth. I find them pretty good.

Southampton? But yes that's what I'd do, direct to them.

Yes, sorry, Southampton. Gruesome little industrial estate but they are welcoming enough if you go personally.

You can post to them directly.
Last I went there they have a magnet door that they would not open. Looks like they do not welcome customer to drop their watches like they use to do

On service you should have a 24 months service warranty so any ad would give you a copy of the invoice which is your warranty paper and sometimes they issue a card like Rolex. But yes cover for 24 months. Any omega AD would send it for you.

If you decide to go to Omega Service Centre, all you need to do is to give them a ring.

They will then send out a Service Pack with which you can send the watch direct to them, postage and insurance paid.

When service is completed they will return it directly to you by Royal Mail.

This is what I do and it works well for me.

    Hi

Same predicament - do I go or send - so would be grateful if someone would PM the address (hopefully not 'scruffy' as the Bexley premises of the other Mob are rather nice) for them in Southampton and a contact telephone number please?

Paul (walkerwek1958) use to be the "go-to guy"; to use the vernacular of our North American cousins, for SMP servicing and refinishing. He's done some fantastic work for me in the past and I've got a 2541.80 that could really do with his attention.

If only the bezels were easier/cheaper to source, since the inserts aren't available at all.

Daz, I've my sons Omega speedmaster in for a service with Simon Freese. If you happy to wait I'll let you know the quality of his work. Lets say the watch needed alot morevthan justice new bezel.

It should be due back any time soon as been in for coming upto the 8weeks turnaround time. I m expecting it to be a little longer due to summer hols etc.

I'd be surprised, he only moved premises in June. Plus he has one of my watches .

Can I be the first to suggest you keep that insert?
    It looks great!

Seems this is the omega go to chap. I'm looking for a service and the hand tips to be painted. Undecided about bezel. It has zero wrist time but who knows what I'll feel like in a couple months.

He sure comes with strong recommendations. I would ask him what he suggests when he receives it. I'm sure he will tell you the pros and cons .

Made me think about everything I've been through with this watch. Good call on bezel.

What do you mean hand tips painted? New lume applying or you actually want the polished section painted a colour?

If the former then it I'd likely as cheap to replace the handset - which is what Swatch will do.
