My wife’s Mondaine stopped so I thought it would be a simple battery change. I ordered a Sony 371 and a Renata 370 and fitted each in turn, but still no life. The plastic film is under the battery ok. Am I being an idiot? Could I have fried the coil somehow?
I notice you can buy a whole new 509 unit from Cousins for c£15, but I wouldn’t know how to fit it and I wouldn’t know which version to buy (height 1, 2 or 6)...
Give up and visit a local watch person?

Looks like the negative terminal has broken off - there should be a bit of metal sticking out at 2 o'clock where the battery goes.
