It's quite a common practice for these types of places, sportpursuit.com does it too.
They're bread and butter is unsold sale stock, manufacturing samples, seconds etc, but you can get some great deals.

I have a rather strong dislike for websites which ask for my data before I can see their offer and seeing they are prepared to pay cash for referrals, it appears they have a strong appetite for data.

I have no interest in making any money from referrals, I've recommended a few websites to people here, never for anything in return, because that's what a community of like minded people does.
Not everyone is out to make a quick buck 😟
