If you don't know the email address then it will need to go to a service centre for a factory reset that only they can do.
If you know the email address just get the password reset.

..use her Google account on any other devices? If so depending what the device is you can potentially view your current/most recent password.
Have you done any online shopping which has been delivered with an invoice/receipt which will show email address? Have you sent or received an email from the email address?
Is it a phone you've bought second hand?
