Thought it might be - I've just followed him on IG.
Could you perhaps PM me an indication of the cost, please, as I am very tempted to get my Ocean One done in a similar fashion.

Surprisingly nervous about it. Dunno why. Think he takes a full week to do it, so will post a few updates as it progresses hopefully.

Sounds good (and considerably cheaper than Viljo, I enquired about his rates becasue owning the Aevig Corvid made me want to get one done).
I shall be watching this with interest. Does he anticipate any issues with the use of titanium in the case/bracelet?
At that scale of cost, I am getting all tempted again.

The Corvid eventually went back to the guy who had it engraved, he realised (perfectly correctly) that he was mad to let it go.
He was even kind enough to offer more for it than I paid him. Involuntary profiteering - I bet that has some people here all conflicted.

It’s steel. No titanium. I asked for a slight change to his floral pattern and more of a fleur-de-lis pattern in links. He did a test link on one of his spare bracelets - I have told him to go ahead but here’s the design we came up with between us

I made contact through my steinhart Limited Editions Facebook group. He’s a member there and had done another member’s OVM. Cost €450

Will do. I’ll post running progress pics here but will post the finished job on the group page. Tbh the guys photos aren’t very good so it’ll be good to have it in hand to photo (hopefully) a bit better.

Being a black powder pistol shooter I do like engraving, most watches leave me a bit cold, but when the engraving works well, it looks really good. Your design looks nice so interested to see the final result.

Ok test links finished do the work can start for real / first lines etched today. I learned already in this process - you can’t rush an engraver. It’s 3 weeks since I sent the watch, so as long as people are ok with delays then all good apologies for photo quality - just the update snaps he sends me

Just picked up this hand engraved beauty. Sorry for the duplication with the new arrival thread but it deserves another post. Not everyone cup of tea but brings a smile to my face.

No, it was commissioned by LW and sold under the name "Oktopus Moon Tattoo". There are 59 individual pieces all hand engraved and unique in terms of design.

Given that it’s purely for me and not to be sold on (my son wants it ) I decided to ask the guy to make the clasp a Scotland flag variant. No idea how that would turn out but told him just to crack on - he sent me a pic - I like it so I guess that’s all that matters.

    Very interesting.
I love looking at the pictures of it and really appreciate the craftsmanship, just not sure if it's 'me'.
Interesting to see different things about though.

Well it will be a very personal one off. Thing about engraving - it’s only really to please the wearer.

I really like it and thanks for the updates as its been interesting seeing it come along, I think a quality solid link Oyster combined with Seiko diver/Sumo would be a good engraving project, got me thinking!

    Engraving

Have to be honest, it’s not my kind of thing but the level of detail is impressive. Clearly it works for you and therefore I hope you enjoy it when you finally get it on the wrist.

So, I think that looks amazing. BUT, now the case and bracket are so intricate...do you feel a need to mod the dial?!

Watch arrived home and whilst not absolutely perfect I am delighted with it and at the price it’s amazing. Je ne regrette rien.

  47. #97
Something different and interesting. Doubt if I can carry it off but certainly interesting.

  48. #98
Looks amazing, I really like the work on the clasp, would make an interesting little standalone feature for someone who was perhaps less bold than yourself.

Was a fun process and not overly expensive - interestingly despite the intricate nature of it all there is a side benefit which I hadn’t considered - namely that swirlies and scratches won’t really show! As such I think this watch will be perfect for wearing on holiday or fishing or camping etc etc.

I wouldn’t do it to a more expensive watch so I think my choice of watch/victim/subject was the right one.

Arrgghh! Just sent him my Ed White

Seriously though that looks good, I like it but like you say choose your watch wisely..
