    Brexit and passports.

I have a maroon coloured passport that's in need of renewal. As far as I'm aware all EU passports are maroon coloured.

Does anyone know if the colour or anything is going to change when we leave the EU? I don't want to fork out £85 then get told I have to update to a different one when we leave.

Anyone know what's going on with them? Are they staying the same?

    You won't have to change.

Got one recently, still maroon but not an 'EU' passport.

    Eventually will be blue.

Nope, with the current shower of shite in charge I'm starting to think that a high barbed wire fence with guard towers and alsatian dogs looks very likely.

The Passort according to the home office

    https://www.gov.uk/government/news/b...-after-eu-exit

Leaving the EU gives us a unique opportunity to restore our national identity and forge a new path for ourselves in the world.

That is why I am delighted to announce that the British passport will be returning to the iconic blue and gold design after we have left the European Union in 2019.

    Officially clueless.

Petrus I doubt very much that you have any idea the amount of bollocks/misinformation that the gutter press and successive governments have suggested to the British public is all down to the EU.
The Brits swallowed it all, hook line and sinker.

    You are probably right.
In this case it is the home office themselves so how cán Brits know otherwise?!

Back to the original posting it is yet another hilarious exhibition.
As far as Í can tell the UK passport will be manufactured by an Franco-Dutch firm in their Polish subsidiary.
Could very well be though that the political mess about it will such that per the 1st of November no UK passports can be printed anywhere...

There is a no difference between German Shepherd and Alsatian dogs. German Shepherd was used by both America and British sides . The British didn't want to call their dogs German, so they decide to call Alsatian to their dog.´

Yes they're the same, ironic that if we continue to go down our current path we'll end up using German dog's.

I don't need to renew mine for quite a while, unfortunately. Still have a cover for it though happily, that obscures the 'European Union' embarrassment.

You won’t have to unless you would want to, the hysterical remaniacs lot though will tell you otherwise. We are not leaving Europe, we’re leaving a federal pan European project masquerading as tariffs free trading zone.

On, and we are leaving not 'without a deal' we're leaving without signing a new Treaty which was given to Theresa May by the EU, but let’s not get terminology get in the way of good foaming.

It´s only 85 quid! Brexit is going to cost a lót more so you might as well have the passport to go with it.

Since when has any pro brexit argument been factual really. Just rose tinted glasses and daydreams of ‘the empire’ ..

I suppose so. I was thinking about how much being part of the trading bloc saved us, how much the EU give to the private sector etc.

But really I should be thinking about never getting involved in a Brexit thread so I'm going to leave it there.

What about driving licences, some say we need permits now it’s another uncertain mess.

What is a fact is the high number of people getting speeding tickets and other fines.

After Brexit, no UK citizens will be allowed to enter a EU country under any circumstances, or with any passport. If you ever wish to visit Europe again, you had better complete your travel by October 31. There will be no exceptions.

Brits are being targeted, speed limits are not always clear and some signs haven’t been changed.
Some of the speed limits haven’t been thought through either.
Personally what’s of more danger to us bikers is the population drinking half a bottle or more of wine at lunch time and tailgating etc.

I’ve never had a speeding ticket in Europe and only one in England, but I am not holier than thou.

My point was green cards, int.driving licences etc.no one can give us hard facts hence all the uncertainty.

I’m sure that driving licences will continue to be recognised in the EU as will EU licenses in the U.K.
Insurers will continue to provide cover whilst driving in mainland Europe.

Don’t take insurance cover for granted...upon informing my insurer I was taking the car to France I was charged a supplement as the trip was longer than 5 days!

Agreed, but my point is that it’s important to check.

Post-Brexit all bets are off and it will be vital to check with your insurer.

But it might be irrelevant anyway as by then the Pound will have tanked so badly no one will be able to afford to go abroad!!

The current T&Cs relate to the UK being a member of the EU.

All I’m saying is don’t take it for granted...but check with your insurance provider.

Not all insurers have a registered office in the EU27 and that will affect their cover depending on the type of Brexit. In case of a no deal, you could find yourself without EU27 cover.
