    Password storage for Android?

Hi all, can anyone recommend a decent app for storing passwords? I'm finding with so many different logins for various things I tend to use the same password across the board which is a big security risk. Would like to be able to create some more sophisticated and unique passwords but need sufficient storage/security over these.

    Thanks.

I use KeePass to store all my passwords on my PC. There are at least two apps (KeePassDroid, which I have been using happily for years, and Keepass2Android, which I've been trying out) available on Android which can access the same password database.

Don't forget to back up your password database - if you use a different password on every site (which you really, really should), then you don't want to risk losing your password database!

1password is the best followed by lastpass.

Might be worth using Chrome and checking out passwords.google.com

I have 1password synced to Dropbox.

Ditto, the free one is fine for single devices, if you want to sync automatically across various devices you can upgrade for a small fee.

I don't pay. My Lastpass passwords are available across all devices.
Windows PC chrome add-on, Android phone app and all the hot desks I use at work.

Free Lastpass syncs across everything for me......... And is excellent btw

Great, maybe they changed their policy or maybe I was talking male bovine danglies, probably the latter.

LastPass here too, been using it since 2009 when the premium only cost 12 USD, now it’s a rip off lol

Free one is adequate tbh, works on across all platforms.

    keypassxc for linux.
    keypassdroid for android.

With these, where you keep the password files is up to you. I keep them on my cloud (Nextcloud -- sort of like Dropbox, I think). This allows sync on all my systems.

    Best wishes,
    Bob

PS I don't allow browser "auto-complete" for passwords. Auto-complete is an "attack surface" and seems a weak point to me. People sometimes say that they want a "frictionless" browsing experience. My experience is that friction can be your friend.

I use Lastpass across PC, Android and Apple - sync across all (in the free version) and is excellent.

    (Other password managers are available)

As an IT bod I would recommend to anyone and everyone - USE A PASSWORD MANAGER!!

    Cheers,

    Mark C

Keeper here, over 400 records and rising synced across multiple devices with Chrome Extension too, which helps to get round work restrictions.

Bitwarden is another good open source alternative, where you can use either use their free cloud, or host yourself. I think it works on most platforms.

I use TrueKey which was recently taken over by McAfee. Not really sure how it compares to many of the others but I get the premium version free on the back of my BT broadband contract, and it's not bad.

Enpass here. It’s been great for me. I don’t know how I ever managed without a password management application honestly.

Thanks for the suggestions folks, tried LastPass last night but not having a great experience so far. Set it up, used TZ as a starter, reset password using the password generator, all stored fine, but very inconsistent success using auto full to log back in and so gave up. For some reason it was taking 6 or 7 attempts to populate my credentials in Dolphin browser for Android. I'll give it another go today.
